Friendly and good communicator. He really makes the effort to engage and explain his findings.
Excellent surgeon . Successful surgery in 2018.
Seen again this year. Helpful advice to manage condition.
Mr Khan showed kindness, compassion and was very gentle with me in breaking bad news.
He took the time to explain my situation and provide a rationale for his decision. A gentleman.
Mr Khan is an exceptionally kind and compassionate doctor and a great listener. His knowledge and expertise are top class.
I was referred to Mr Khan's clinic by my GP. I presented with sciatica pain symptoms and suspicion of a pinched nerve in my leg. An initial MRI scan of my spine, arranged by my GP, didn't show any abnormalities.
Mr Khan was very attentive during our first appointment, taking notes on my previous health and family history. During this initial consultation, I expressed my concern that my symptoms could be signs of Neurofibromatosis type 2, a rare genetic condition present in my family.
Even though my symptoms were not typical for NF2, Mr Khan ordered an extensive MRI of my whole spine and brain to exclude the presence of tumours commonly associated with NF2.
Our second appointment took place sometime later after the scan results came back. Unfortunately, Mr Khan had some bad news for me. The scans showed the presence of bilateral acoustic neuromas and other tumours down my spine as well.
Mr Khan was very gentle and reassuring during the appointment. He explained I was not anywhere near the surgery stage yet. He promised to sort further referrals with other specialist teams for me in the upcoming months. He took time to make sure I was feeling ok. He was very empathetic.
Mr Khan had sought the advice of two other neurosurgeon consultants before he presented me with my diagnosis of NF2. That's because my condition is very rare. This idea of three consultants discussing my case made me feel very well looked after and cared for.
I couldn't help thinking how lucky I was to get an early diagnosis, which could have been easily missed.
If the need for future surgery arises, I have full confidence in Mr Khan and his skills.
Mr Khan is the most professional, highly skilled, kind and empathetic surgeon we have ever met. My husbands health deteriorated in a matter of weeks during the first pandemic lockdown. My husband needed urgent spinal surgery. He was admitted to the Western General Hospital Edinburgh. His treatment and care was exemplary. We were kept fully informed throughout his treatment. The medical team worked through the challenge of COVID-19 and we trusted them implicitly.
All steps were taken to minimize risk in terms of Covid 19. We were reassured throughout his time before and after surgery by the medical team and he had a successful outcome.
I would highly recommend Mr Khan and any patient referred to him should feel confident in his expertise. They should trust Mr Khan and be confident in his advice and expertise.
It is difficult to find words that convey our appreciation for the work of Mr Khan and his team. He restored my husband to full health and supported me beyond what would be reasonable to expect from such a busy surgeon.
From the minute we met Mr Khan we knew we were in safe hands. A wonderful, gracious surgeon who we can never thank enough for what he did for us.
Mr Khan is all that is good in our wonderful NHS.
Thank you to you and your team.

Dearest Mr Sadaquate Khan, Thank You is almost totally inadequate in recognition of my recent surgery by yourself. You are a surgical wizard, and a most humble gentleman in respect of your skills. Now I am enjoying a return to my normal and active way of living, and no longer in pain. I must admit, I was most reluctant at undergoing spinal surgery. I need not have had any concerns! 23 hours after surgery and excellent after care I was home and pain free. You must take great pride in your work, and your parents and family must feel immense pride in you. Yours sincerely Rosie Oliver
