Two days ago I needed emergency hernia repair surgery at Altnagelvin Hospital. Mr. Rodger Lawther, Senior Consultant Surgeon, carried out the procedure on the NHS. I found him to be extremely affable, engaging, attentive, highly professional and very re-assuring. It was an extremely large hernia and a very difficult operation which, I believe, took twice the normal length of time, but I can do nothing but praise Mr. Lawther for such a successful procedure. I have been completely pain free and feel confident that this repair will be permanent.
