I have recently had my second operation on my right big toe joint which Mr Elliot has now fused for me. I am 16 weeks on from the operation and am in considerably a lot more pain now than before I had the operation. So much so that I am now struggling to walk ! I did explain this to him but he didn’t really seem to come up with any answer for it. After consulting my doctor I am now waiting for an appointment to see the Orthotics Department at Basingstoke Hospital, to see if they can shed any light on what could be causing the problem.... Here’s hoping. They do say it does take around a year for the foot to settle down after a big toe fusion operation, so I would expect the pain to get better as the weeks go on not get worse....

I was absolutely terrified of my first operation at the age of 66, but Mr Elliott reassured me everything would be fine, and it was. The operation was very successful and you can hardly see any scar, have just been back for my follow up appointment and saw Mr Elliott, and was discharged but told if I have any problems to get in touch. This was all on the NHS at Basingstoke Hospital and I would definitely recommend Mr Elliott and the hospital, brilliant.

I had my first consultation with Mr Elliot a few years ago after having issues with my right foot. I was born with a club foot and it was agreed that a double fusion would be the best option in the future. At my request I did wait for a few years due to the age of my children at the time. I received full support throughout with this decision and continued to receive regular check ups. The surgery was completed in January 2015 and the whole process was explained to me in full I was totally put at ease. Mr Elliot listened to any concerns and was on hand after surgery to answer any queries. The procedure has been totally worth it due to the expertise of Mr Elliot. I would thoroughly recommend anyone in a similar position to listen to his advice.

I would along side Mr Elliott, it very nice to see that a surgeon who listens. He treats surgery as a last resort and understands about working with other healthcare professionals. Put it this way, if I had a foot and problem would I see Mr Elliot. Yes.

After a failed ankle fusion 17 years ago I was referred to Mr Elliot. I wasn't holding out much hope that anything could be done, ( other surgeons had said nothing could be done!) and after my first consultation with him he said he would sort it. Mr Elliot is very professional in his approach towards you. He explains everything in great detail but in a way that you can understand. I had my fusion at the beginning of July and it has been a great success. I cannot express my thanks to Mr Elliot enough.
