I had a telephone consultation with Mr Pollock - we went through my imaging, and my options. It seems to way forward is for me to have a knee replacement, but with the Corona virus, this will have to be postponed until the Autumn. I would wish Mr Pollock to carry out this surgery

VERY PROMPT AND PROFESSIONAL. OFFERED ACCESS VIA SECRETARY IF I HAD ANY FURTHER QUESTIONS. SIX WEEK SIGN-OFF BY PHONE DUE CORINAVIRUS OUTBREAK. FINAL SIGN-OFF DUE IN MID-AUGUST. OVERALL ASSESSMENT EXCELLENT AS MY RECOVERY HAS BEEN FIRST CLASS.

After almost two frustrating years looking for a solution to my knee problem, I was referred to Mr R C Pollock by the wonderful Mr Jig Patel. Mr Pollock really seemed keen on getting me back to playing the game I love. He diagnosed the problem and took me through the next steps, confident I'd make a full recovery. Incredibly reassuring to hear as I was starting to lose hope. In terms of my experience with his background staff, I felt improvements could be made on the NHS side of things. I understand the health service is under a lot of pressure, but more needs to be done to keep patients informed as I felt in the dark a lot of the time. Not hearing back from admin staff at RNOH or getting confirmation from the scheduler a day before my surgery with very little information on pre-op preparation etc, didn't make for a great experience. With that said, I have to commend Frankie, his PA at Spire Bushey Hospital (private arm), who really went above and beyond to chase up and push my case through when things got stuck in the NHS pipeline. Without her, I doubt I would've got treatment when I did. It's things like this you really appreciate and is a great example of providing great care. I also have to shout out the team of nurses, porters and patrons in Jackson Burrows ward. Led by the industrious Sherene Bascoe (who was amazing), despite being short of staff, really looked-after me before and after surgery. I applaud the effort they put in every time they work to ensure patients are safe and well looked-after. Thanks again - now time to recover.

Dr Pollock was very well prepared and informed on my condition. He had reviewed the consultants' reports and scans prior to my visit. He clearly explained to possible treatments and recommended whicg treatment was most suitable for my situation. We had an in depth discussion about my condition and I should expect in the future. He was a very good listener and indeed very patient. I was very pleased with his consultation.

Mr. Pollack is the first doctor I have visited for a long time who really listened to me and cared about what I wanted. He understood that I have severe reactions to anasthetic and is the only surgeon I have seen who has not pushed me into having a hip replacement immediately. He was mush more measured in his approach and was happy to try other options until we both came to a conclusion that a hip replacement would be necessary. I found this approach extremely refreshing. I wasn't made to feel silly and I felt he completely respected my choices whilst simultaneously guiding me to which route he felt would be the best one for me. I am delighted I found Mr. Pollack and totally trust his judgement. He has a very calm, kind manner which I also often find missing today in some medical personal. I would recommend him completely and I believe if you chose Mr. Pollack as your surgeeon, you will be in very good care.
