I underwent a laparoscopic bilateral hernia repair on 9/6/2014 under the care of Mr T Arulampalam and Mr R Bethune at the District General Hospital in Colchester Essex. Mr Bethune was my first point of Consultant contact and he outlined the procedure and possible risks. He was at all times courteous, empathetic and responsive. I have a PH of BPH and discussed this with Mr Bethune fully who conferred with Mr Arulampalam and the decision was made to change my management plan ensuring the best outcome possible for me. Mr Arulampalam also came to see me pre op to explain their decision and the procedure fully. He too was professional and empathetic. Both Consultants were professional and personable and I cannot praise them too highly. The entire Team In Elective Care and on Mersea Ward proved to be professional and caring in a clean and safe environment both pre op and post op. I would have no hesitation in recommending anyone to undergo a procedure in such safe hands as those of Mr Arulampalam and Mr Bethune.

Had vasectomy procedure performed by Rob, he explained exactly what he was going to do helped you feel at ease. Throughout the procedure Rob continued to reassure and check on your wellbeing. Mr Rob Bethune –Professional and friendly from start to finish. Ward very clean. Nurse Jean who I saw at original consultation very knowledgeable making you feel relaxed and comfortable about the entire procedure. Thank you
