From the start Mr Stirling made me feel very comfortable as he seemed very approachable and listened to my concerns. Subsequently I had every confidence that I was in safe hands. He had a gentle manner and spoke reassuringly during the procedure . I must thank both him and his team for excellent , friendly care throughout.

Quite remarkable. Despite the world being in turmoil, my own world has suddenly become brighter and, for the first time in my relatively long life, I can now read the bottom line on the chart, as well as the fine print, without the need for contact lenses or spectacles. Quite remarkable; thanks to the wonders of cataract surgery and multifocal lenses. My thanks to Mr Sterling and his team for their care and professionalism. They are, quite remarkable.

Mr Stirling was recommended to me by a friend and what a great recommendation it turned out to be. From the first meeting with Mr Stirling I felt happy to have him treat my cataracts. He understands the importance of your eyes to you and wants to do everything to give you the best sight possible. He was friendly, answered questions and totally put me at ease. I had both eyes operated on 2 weeks apart. On the day of the operations the team working with Mr Stirling were fantastic. They all seem to understand how nervous everyone is and do everything to ensure your experience is the best possible. Everything was calm. The pre-op, operation and post op experience was great with no pain or discomfort. I left the hospital confident I knew what I needed to do with the eye drops and several telephone numbers to call in the event of any questions. I did use these numbers and again very quickly got the answers I required. My eye sight now is fantastic - near and far - so much better than I expected. So happy not needing to mess around with contact lens and glasses. I would highly recommend Mr Stirling and his team for their caring attitude and excellent surgical skills.

The whole process from referral by optician through consultation, cataract operation and follow up has been smooth, timely and straight forward. Communication has been excellent and information clear and helpful. Mr Stirling was recommended to me by an old friend. He has a pleasing balance of listening to and respecting my views as the patient, while being able to discuss and recommend ways forward as the professional involved. Clearly with a wealth of experience he presents as a likeable personality, with empathy, easy to talk to and allows plenty of time to deliberate on a decision. His team on the day of the operation were helpful, clear on what was going to happen / happening and made me feel at ease. Perhaps my best testament to Richard Stirling is that I plan to return to him as my consultant in due course for a second cataract treatment. When I was told I needed cataract surgery I started to do my research and was recommend Mr Stirling . My first pre op appointment came and to be fair I was very nervous , Mr Stirling had an initial consultation with me and did a thorough examination before I went to see the nurse Becky for further checks I have to say she was brilliant , she put me at ease and after the checks I had a further consultation with Mr Stirling who took me through all my options clearly . The day of the operation came and I was greeted by 2 nurses that got me ready for my operation , they where excellent again they could see I was nervous and where extremely caring and professional, the operation was completed by Mr Stirling who again along with his team in the operating room explained everything that was going to happen . After the operation the nurses again looked after me and gave me my drops and explained what I needed to do . 3 days later I had a call from Becky making sure everything was ok and answered any questions . This process happen again with my second eye in exactly the same way , I then finally had my post op consultation which was again very thorough. Had corrective vision lens swap for multifocal lens in both eyes. I'm 5 weeks in to first eye and 2.5 weeks for second, results and care from Mr Stirling could not be better. My only regret is I didn't have this done sooner. Booking process and operation very well organized and all went as planned and predicted.
