Mr. Richard Freeman has been totally informative and professional during my period of injury, care and recovery, including half a dozen consulting meetings (pre and post-op), an MRI scan and an operation. MR. Freeman made me feel assured and confident that an operation was the right way to go and I am delighted by the outcomes. On the day of the operation, I was looked after and knew that I was in the best hands possible during my stay at Nuffield Haywards Heath. Thank you all.

As soon as I walked into his consulting room he diagnosed my condition, despite 3 Separate Physiotherapists and 2 Osteopaths haven g misdiagnosed my condition. he carried out a left ankle Arthroscopy and lateral ligament reconstruction with an internal brace. I was pain free within 2 days of the operation and have been walking on this ankle without any aid after 4 weeks. He is a brilliant surgeon.

Mr Freeman identified the issue straight away and following surgery my pain was instantly relieved. I have been provided with excellent aftercare and advice and I am very pleased with the results.

Had a reconstruction of my deltoid ankle ligament in early November. Dr Internet says that involves 6 weeks off your feet, then 6 weeks in a boot. In my case this was done via key-hole surgery, so fully weight bearing immediately with a boot which i only required for 2 weeks. A week later i was comfortably doing hour long dog walks up and down dale through mud, and after only 2 months I was back running and playing racketball. Slight pain in the shin, and a little less mobility than the other ankle at this point, but other than that no issues at all. 10 weeks in restarting pilates to help the mobility. Fair to say I'm extremely pleased with Mr Freeman's work!

Operation November 2022: After suffering from Achilles Tendinopathy for 2 years I was recommended to see Mr Freeman due to his skill at performing "Dorsally Based Closing Wedge Osteotomy of the Calcaneus". Mr Freeman explained the operation before and the post operative recovery. Surgery was performed as a day patient at Spire Gatwick Hospital (a great hospital) Mr Freeman and his team were great and the operation went smoothly. Almost no pain and just had a few days of anti inflammatory tablets. I had a follow up 6 weeks later to confirm heel bone had healed and I could start running after a further 8 weeks. I started running 26th March, 2 miles and no pain in heel. I am now running 8 miles long run and 16 miles per week with no pain. The stiffness and soreness is almost completely gone. An amazing operation from a fantastic surgeon.
