In November 2013 I was in The Derrisford Hospital for an operation for oesophageal cancer, after a very long operation, I was discharged home. I needed become accustomed to my stomach being in a new position, but all was well. Four months later I went to see Mr Berrisford, and asked whats next, he replied nothing, I felt all your important organs and they are "Pinky and Perky" no need for anything. Just to be sure I requested a scan, and of course he was right, nothing to report. I cannot commend Mr Berrisford enough, I have seen two more sons married and five more grandchildren, that I would have missed. He was backed up by an incredible staff, who were thoughtful and caring. What more can I say but a huge thank you.

11 years ago now my husband William - Bill - was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer after presenting with black stools. He was under care of Consultants including Mr. R. Berrisford. I would like to thank everyone involved for the expertise and kindness shown to my husband. He was diagnosed very early and at the age of 74 underwent a very long operation but didn’t need Chemo or Radiotherapy. We went along nicely celebrating his 10th anniversary but unfortunately just after that in March this year he was diagnosed with Stage 4 prostate cancer which did involve radiotherapy. Just like to convey my thanks to all who have helped us over these recent months and previous years. Unfortunately my hubby passed away last weekend 27th November and not cancer related. So sad. We have nothing but praise for Mr R Berrisford and his team. Thank you .
