I am a general urologist with a sub-specialist interest in urological cancers. I have an interest in the management of superficial bladder cancer and photodynamic diagnosis (Blue light) cystoscopy. I am a principle investigator in the UK PHOTO trail. I work closely with a specialist bladder cancer CNS and the urology MDT.
I graduated from the University Of Wales College Of Medicine, Cardiff in 1995. In 2008 I was awarded an MD from Cardiff University for my research into prostate cancer. I was appointed to Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University health board as a Urological Consultant Surgeon in 2010. In addition, I hold the position of Associate Medical Director for Informatics for the health board.
I am a member of the British Association of Urological Surgery (BAUS), the British Medical Association (BMA), the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the European Association of Urology. I have a post graduate diploma in medical education and hold posts as Honorary Clinical Teacher (Cardiff University), Royal College of Surgeons of England Surgical Tutor and Approved Educational Supervisor for our urological unit.
