Mr Mallina was excellent. He explained everything to me. Putting me at complete ease and everything went very smoothly. I had Carpal Tunnel Decompression under local anaesthetic. I honestly felt nothing and had no pain afterwards either. The recovery seemed really quick and all the symptoms that I had prior to the procedure have completely gone.

Mr Mallina performed my father's carpal tunnel surgery at St Anthony's Hospital in February 2026. My father is an incredibly nervous patient but Mr Mallina was extremely kind and reassuring and did everything to put him at ease. He performed the surgery under local anaesthetic in the procedure room which meant the whole process was quick and easy. My father was allowed to take his ipad and headphones into the procedure room as a distraction, and the surgery was performed extremely smoothly with my father experiencing no stress or discomfort. The wound has healed extremely well, with the scar barely visible already and his pain has resolved in full. He is delighted with the outcome and extremely grateful to Mr Mallina for his excellent bedside manner and surgical skills.

I consulted Dr. Mallina back in 2023 for pain at the base of my thumb in both hands. The deteriorations were made known to me then, so were the alternatives for treatment. At that point in time, apart from pain which can be rather severe, I could not perform most activities involving the use of my thumbs. Even simple tasks such as opening bottle tops. As I felt unsure of how operations involving the hands would turn out. I was apprehensive. In 2024, I had chosen having steroid injection to both base joints. This worked and as expected, the result faded after say, one year. After repeated consultations and finding related information from the public domain, I decided to have the operation done with Dr. Mallina and starting with my right hand. The preparation and planning of the operation was done to a fine detail with clear explanations. The choices for operation was explained to me in a clear and layman like manner which had helped with my expectations for the outcome. Prior to the operation, throughout the process on the 10th December and up to the time I left the UK, no attention was spared. Apart from 3 follow up consultations after a very good operation, regular phone calls and examinations of digital images sent through WhatsApp were exchanged with my questions address. I feel very fourtunate to have consulted and operated by Dr. Mallia. Apart from his knowledge and surgical skills, his human side is very much appreciated. I am 74 years old male with a number of health issues including reduced heart function amongst others. The pre operation investigations were thorough and I felt no risk throughout the process. In closing, my heartfelt thanks for a surgeon like Dr. Mallina with excellent skills and at the same time so human and caring. Sincerely Mike Chan

Dr Mallina treated my carpal tunnel syndrome which was given me severe pains at night and discomfort during the day. I felt that he was an expert in the field and Dr Mallina diagnosed the issue right away and treated it with surgery which was arranged in a very short time. The surgery resolved the problem instantly and I was given great post-surgery care. Dr Mallina guided me step by step offing a lot of care and attention and being accommodating and approachable. He communicated every step of the way while giving excellent care and guidance. I would highly recommend.
