Mr Barod and his colleagues performed a radical nephrectomy which was later described as text book. On a ward visit the day after, he made time to ensure any questions I had were fully answered and my rapid recovery has greatly benefitted from his efficient and tidy work. Also, he's a nice chap!

I had been in and out of hospital with kidney problems for the majority of the summer. I was eventually referred to Mr Barod to have my kidney removed. From the very first consultation, he put me at ease and made me feel extremely reassured that I was in safe hands. He explained the procedure step by step, along with any potential complications and how he planned to tackle those. He understood and listened to my concerns and gave me ample opportunity to ask questions along the way. After the operation, I made a speedy recovery with no complications. Mr Barod was kind, professional and put an end to all my previous suffering. I can honestly say that he is a leader in his field. King Edward VII and the Royal Free should be honoured to have such an incredible surgeon practicing at their hospitals. I cannot recommend him highly enough!!

As a result of an ultrasound and CT scan, a 2.6 cm lesion was found on my left kidney. I had an initial consultation with Mr Peter Acher, Consultant Urological Surgeon at London Bridge, who subsequently referred me to Mr Barod, a leading specialist and Consultant Urological Surgeon. Mr Barod explained in great detail my options available and even drew a diagram for me to understand more clearly. I decided on a biopsy to start with and as a result of that, went on to opt for the robotic partial nephrectomy. Before the procedure, he explained it all very thoroughly, step by step, as well as any possible complications and I was completely put at ease and reassured. The operation took place on 4 November after which he kindly called my husband to say I was out of theatre and it had gone well. I spent one night in hospital and he came to check up on me the following day and arranged a follow up appointment. Whilst at home recovering, I became slightly anxious about one of the incisions and dropped him an email querying this. Mr Barod promptly responded with an explanation and I was reassured once again. I am eternally grateful for the treatment I have received from Mr Barod, a true professional in his field and a very kind and caring gentleman.
