I was treated by members of Mr Surange's team who listened to my requests and followed my whishes' I did not want a general anaesthetic at my age 82, so had a nerve block instead. my cystoscopy and biopsy went to plan .I cannot fault the care that i received at Rochdale Infirmary .

This doctor is unprofessional... has no consideration whatsoever to his patients..he thinks its ok to keep them, poorly people, waiting for 2/3/4 hours after their appointment time, until he decides he HAS to see them..... despicable! He doesn’t look at your history and misses very important information ....if you’re of a certain age, he is very reluctant to give you the care you need.

I was assigned this urologist after being diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer in Feb this year which had spread to different parts of the bone However I have been known to and seen this consultant previously before diagnosis. From three years prior to being diagnosed with metastasis my urologist failed to make me aware i had bone cancer despite bone scans that showed this in 2017 and therefore relevant treatment was not offered. Despite a rising PSA, multiple admissions into hospital and being reffered to Mr Surange countless times from Oldham Hospital, no further investigations or bone scans were conducted after 2017, despite having one yearly before and have been since 2007 when diagnosed with prostate cancer that hadnt spread. Luckily in January I attended North Manchester due to no beds at Oldham Royal, and it was here they finally said we need to do a bone scan, which of course shower increased mets since 2017. In feburary this year I met with Mr Surange to discuss treatment offers, it seems they had an MDT meeting and decided that nothing should be offered because of my other medical conditions Mr Surange and his team I believe did not even read through my medical files accurately, as I was listed with countless conditions that I have never have including heart attack, and also that I am insulin dependant and bedbound - all which were completly untrue. He missed out very important medical conditions that correlate to the bone such as spinal stenosis, osteoporis and artherthis. He said no more treatment, even though he said he only deals with surgical procedures and doesnt know much about the cancer drugs available and that is an oncologist role. He gave me a couple of months. Since then I have seen Mr Surange 4 times and each time he is incompassionate and uninterested in my urological problems. He rushes at appointments, despite waiting an hour after scheduled appointment time, and it is respectively difficult to communicate as I find his accent hard to understand and he will tend to use medical jargon which is inappropriate for an 81 year old. I have to request my own bone scans and PSA levels. Mr Surange appears to have no interest in my cancer, the last time he asked to see me he said we will follow up in 6 weeks. 3 months later I have to ring them to ask why nobody has sent me a letter for a follow up.. They then apologise and send it as soon as they can. This is always the case. I would advise who has an appointment with Mr Surange to find an alternative urologist because all I have recieved is poor undiginified care.
