I am an oculoplastic surgeon and recently visited East Grinstead to observe Mr Malhotra in his NHS and private practice over 5 days. I was extremely impressed by the high standard of care he gave to all his patients. Despite busy clinics he was able to devote more than adequate amounts of time to all his patients explaining in detail their diagnosis and proposed management plan. He was meticulous in his surgical techniques. I was particularly impressed by his local anaesthesia, as this can be the most uncomfortable part of any procedure. His slow injection technique, under sedation, together with distraction made sure that his patients felt minimal discomfort. This was an educational week for me and I plan to apply some of these techniques to my own practice.
