Dr Tailor is not only a very knowledgeable doctor but a very decent and kind human being..He is patient with an excellent bedside manner , very informative and happy to answer all your questions without ever rushing you.He also is an excellent surgeon and I am very happy to have been treated by him..He has my full confidence and respect...

The treatment I was given and the excellent care you provided was top quality, nothing was to much trouble, you took great care of my eyes and gave good advise, not sure how you could improve your care as all fantastic.

Mr Tailor is a consummate professional and I feel very lucky to have been treated by him for both of my Trabeculectomy operations. He is kind, caring, and efficient, never allowing the relentless pressures he has on his time show whilst he patiently explains the treatment he advises which gives you the confidence to go ahead knowing you could not be in a safer pair of hands! From the very beginning of my treatment, Mr Tailor was clear and realistic about the procedure and its outcomes. Throughout surgery and aftercare, he made sure his decisions were unhurried and not bound by time constraints. I am deeply grateful to Mr Tailor for giving me back the gift of clear vision and the impact it is having, and will continue to have, on my welfare and confidence. Mr Tailor provided me with excellent care for my glaucoma operation.
He not only has expertise in his field, he is approachable and is a good communicator. I felt I was in good skillful hands, and it was no surprise the operation was a success.

Mr RajenTailor MBBS, MRCP, FRCOphth, is a Consultant Ophthalmologist with a specialist interest in glaucoma and cataracts.
Prior to his consultant appointment, Mr Tailor was a fellow in the sub-specialist field of glaucoma at Moorfields eye Hospital, London, where he gained extensive experience in the medical, laser and surgical management of glaucoma. Mr. Tailor is experience in performing both conventional glaucoma surgery (trabeculectomy and aqueous shunt implantation) as well as the newer minimal invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) procedures such as the I-stent implant, hydrus implant, Xen implant and KDB glaucoma procedure.
Mr Tailor main areas of research interest are angle closure, neovascular glaucoma and optimizing outcomes of glaucoma surgery.
Mr Tailor is actively involved in teaching, training and research in the field of Glaucoma, running a bi-annual surgical glaucoma course, speaking at local & regional meetings, training fellows from the UK and overseas and acting as a principle investigator for an international glaucoma study. He has a number of peer reviewed publications and book chapters in the field of glaucoma as well as won local, national and international prizes in both general ophthalmology and glaucoma.
Recently he was awarded a Staff Recognition Award (December 2019) for development and expansion of the Glaucoma service in Oxford.
