From my very first visit with Dr Raj Das Bhaumik I felt put at ease. The first thing we did was discuss my symptoms and the reason that lead me to him that day. I came away from the meeting feeling confident enough to commit to the procedure and had no real major concerns. From that first meeting to post operation recovery I have received great support from Dr Raj and his team. I would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone.

Mr Das-Bhaumik is very approachable, attentive and an excellent communicator. He completed minor operations around both my eyes - they were a complete success and met my stated outcomes completely. My quality of life aspirations for the operation were completely met. At every stage Mr Das-Bhaumik and his team were professional, friendly and took great care to make sure I was comfortable. Review for Mr Raj Das-Bhaumik Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon - Moorfields Private Eye Hospital London I first met this wonderful consultant last year at Moorfields Private Eye Hospital in London. I was concerned by excess skin to my upper eyelids and dark shadows, eye bags with excess skin to my lower lids. During a very thorough consultation I was made fully aware of what the issue was with my eyes. I did indeed have excess skin to my upper lids, the lower lids I was told was due to fat which had herniated and which led to a very visible bulge under each eye. I am in my 30's and not at all someone that would ever consider cosmetic surgery, as I wasn't sure of how the results would be. However, I was given all the facts and pros and cons to this surgery, the full cost, and reassurance that the desired outcome would be natural looking and not overly 'too Hollywoood'. I wanted the surgery but didn't want people to look at me as if I've had cosmetic surgery like some celebrities. One thing that became apparent from my first consultation and there after, was the professionalism and polite and respectful manner of Mr Raj Das-Bhaumik. He was so down to earth and explained things to me in such a way that from that initial consultation I didn't want to go elsewhere. I had researched this procedure prior to meeting him and found that he had a wealth of experience and this was one of his specialities. I knew I was in safe hands. One other wonderful thing that I didn't realise, was that Moorfields Eye hospital receives funding from anyone that goes as a private patient. Therefore, some funds from procedures undertaken as a private patient help to support the NHS of the main hospital. This I think is a wonderful idea, as the procedure I had for 4 lids would not be available on the NHS. In June of this year I had surgery for four lid blepharoplasty under local anaesthetic with sedation as a daycase procedure under the care of Mr Raj Das-Bhaumik. I had no initial pain after the procedure, and once the patches were removed I could see visible results immediately despite the bruising, swelling etc. I wasn't expecting to go WOW!! It was perhaps quite a shock as I really wasn't sure of how I would look. I had a very significant droop to one of my upper eyelids more so than the other, and wasn't sure how he would make them look as symmetrical as could be. He took several photos before and made several markings to my lids and one can assume that he is quite the perfectionist!! My after care was explained fully- 3 different types of drops for my eyes several times a day, and an ointment for the incision lines. As expected initial swelling and bruising was and is to be expected. I made sure that I kept the areas as clean as possible and maintained excellent hygiene as to minimise infection risk. I also made sure my diet was healthy with lots of protein and vitamin C effervescent drink to help with healing. I had removal of excess skin to my upper lids and small amount of tissue, on the lower lids the fat was repositioned into the hollows and excess skin removed. The lower lids is by far the more difficult procedure. I made sure I slept fairly upright the first week and followed all the advice given. My sutures were removed by Mr Raj Das- Bhaumik in my follow up. This was painless. He was really pleased with the results at this stage even though there was still some slight swelling. I had another follow up appointment 6 weeks later and by that stage I think the results from my before pictures was outstanding. I have to see him again in 3 months. I can honestly say, that I have never met such a wonderful consultant surgeon, his dedication to his job and his patients is outstanding. I would highly recommend anyone going as a patient to Moorfields Private hospital and having a consultation with Mr Raj Das- Bhaumik. The results from my surgery are really great and I'm so happy that I trusted my instincts in seeking the best person for the job after my consultation. I have nothing but praise for all the great work that this hospital provides and all the wonderful people that work there. Excellent service!!
