Mr Dubey was very professional though out all my appointments and operation. He explained fully the problem I was suffering from and the procedure to fix the problem. After the operation that took a long time, Mr Dubey still found time to make a telephone call to my wife to explain the operation and how I was after the operation. This gave my wife a great relief as she was unable to attend after the operation due to the current visiting rules. My last visit to Mr Dubey he said he was going to discharge me, but after a brief discussion, he decided to have a follow up appointment. Mt Dubey then explained that he was moving away from the Stoke Royal, but would make sure the new consultant would have all my records. A big Thank You to Mr Dubey for his expert work in dealing with a very complex problem.

I felt railroaded into having surgery from the first instance, but I was assured that it was a simple procedure with minimal risk. However, the operation didn't go well. First, the surgeon underestimated the drop in my spinal cord due to pre-diagnosed spondylolisthesis, and duly he got the tooling stuck during the procedure. While removing the tool, he cut through a ligament that had to be repaired. Then this necessitated a different surgical technique where a muscle was cut through. Immediately after the operation, the surgeon then explained, and I quote, "my gut feeling is that I've introduced instability, and you will need further surgery". I have had more pain and stiffness since surgery, yet the surgeon insists on telling me how this is normal at every appointment. At no point do I feel I have been listened to, and I get the impression he would rather not see me at all. Lastly, the surgeon said that to check on the progress of the spondylolisthesis; he would schedule regular x-rays, yet when I asked when this would start, he then informed me that x-rays were done shortly after surgery and things should be Ok for a number of years so there will be no follow up x-rays/checks. Quiet how I need them one month, but then I don't a short while later seems strange to me?

Response from Mr Rahul Dubey

Dear Patient, Thank you for your valuable feedback. I am sorry to hear that things did not go as per your expectations. Your feedback is extremely valuable and I would quite like to review your case and reflect on it. Unfortunately from your description I could not match your identity from my memory and just wanted to make sure that I was definitely your consultant. I would request if I was your consultant in deed, please let my secretary know your details so I could review your case and see if there is anyway I can help. I do apologize for not having met your expectations. Kind regards,
