I can’t thank Mr Al-Mahfoudh enough for what he has done for me i went and saw him in November as I had trouble walking as I had chronic pain in my left leg due to trapping my sciatic nerve in a couple of places which has happened twice before but Mr Al-Mahfoudh was very confident it would be no problem to get my life back with no pain he was very thorough explaining the whole procedure and nothing was to much trouble I came away feeling very confident. I had the operation early January which went really well even though I still have a long way to go but I’m managing to walk pain free which is absolutely unbelievable if you saw the amount of pain I was in I could not thank or recommend Mr Al-Mahfoudh enough he is an amazing consultant And once again thanks for giving my life back And I would also like to thank his PA Rochelle who was very helpful as well

I first consulted Mr Al-Mahfoudh in early 2019 with intermittent sciatica. He advised me of the options for treatment and we agreed that I would attempt to manage the pain with regular Pilates classes and pain killers when necessary. This worked well until early in 2022 when the pain became constant and started to impact my day to day activities. I consulted Mr Al-Mahfoudh again and we agreed that the best action would be to have surgery. He explained the procedure and all the risks involved. In November 2022, he performed a minimally invasive laminectomy and microdiscectomy on my spine. The recovery has been amazing. Within an hour of waking from the anaesthetic, I was out of bed and able to walk a short distance. I received excellent post operative care from all his team, and was back home on the morning of day 3. Since then the recovery has gone just as described by Mr Al-Mahfoudh. It is now 17 days since the operation and I am walking greater distances each day, feeling very little pain in my legs. I was very nervous about having the operation but felt I would be in safe hands.... and I was. I am so grateful to Mr Al-Mahfoudh and his team and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone who is suffering with back pain. He listens and explains well, ensures you fully understand the implications of your decisions and so fills you with confidence.

I consulted with Mr Al-Mahfoudh with chronic neck pain of duration at least 12 months. My pain was intensifying, becoming debilitating, and escalating doses of painkillers were not providing relief from pain. After a number of diagnostic scans, CT-SPECT identified the site of pain to be C1-C2. With that knowledge, fusion surgery was agreed after much discussion, and this was performed in September 2022. I am delighted with the outcome: at 2 months post-surgery, I have complete resolution of pain. My limitations in neck movement seem inconsequential given the outcome, and are no worse than that prior to surgery, when neck motion was limited due to pain. I highly recommend Mr Al-Mahfoudh, as I do fusion surgery for anyone in a similar situation to mine. Not only because of my outcome, but also because of the positive endorsements from many of his colleagues during my hospital visits, I am confident that Mr Al-Mahfoudh is a very talented surgeon.

I visited Mr Al Mahfoudh after a physiotherapist suspected I had a fractured spine. I had been in a lot of pain for a month following being thrown of my horse. Mr Al Mahfoudh was very professional and explained the implications of the fracture. He detailed the options available to me together with the pro’s and con’s. I opted for a Kyphoplasty and had complete trust in Mr Al Mahfoudh and his team. He did a great job and I have gained some of my height back and are now pain free.

I was worried that I would be told my back pain was not something that could be fixed. Mr Al-Mahfoudh not only listened but explained my choices and why the option we decided on was most appropriate. I felt calm and relaxed in his care and would highly recommend him to others.
