I was referred to Dr Al-Mafoudh with spinal cord compression at C3 and C4. I was experiencing loss of balance, weakness in my legs, pins and needles in my hands, muscle spasms etc. It was very debilitating, I couldn't walk very far, and was very frightened of falling over, as I have RA if I fall I can't get myself up. I had the two discs replaced - ACDF surgery performed by Dr Al-Mafoudh I'm now 4 months post op and doing so much better. I have my balance and strength back in my legs, the muscle spasms have stopped and I now have proper feeling back in my hands. Dr Al-Mafoudh explained everything very clearly and very honestly. I felt I would be in safe hands, even though it was worrying surgery to have. I'm so glad he was my Consultant and that I had the Surgery, I feel back to my old self now.

Very professional from initial consultation to the follow up consultation following surgery. I was provided with a clear understanding of my options and what each would achieve and the respective process. I was nervous about the surgery but continued assurance from all involved made the experience comfortable. I was provided with ample information about my procedure both verbally and in writing.

I can only give the highest recommendation to Mr Rafid Al-Mahfoudh as my consultant he took time to understand my view of my condition, my concerns and what I was hoping to achieve. Mr Rafid Al-Mahfoudh investigated my condition and presented me with a plan with all the possible risks and planned outcome. Having agreed to the procedure I was treated with care and kept fully informed through each step; the outcome for me has been nothing but amazing. I must also mention Rochelle Bye, Mr Rafid Al-Mahfoudh secretary, who does a wonderful job of keeping correspondence flowing, organising appointment and generally putting you at ease.

I can not thank Mr Al-Mafoudh enough he is a Fantastic Surgeon he helped me all along my journey with him after several steroid injections to micro surgery to spinal fusion . He is a genuine caring person who you can see cares about all his patients . He has transformed my life and can now walk for longer without my stick and my pain has significantly improved.
