Having been in pure agony with sciatica on my right side for about 12 months Mr Popa advised an MRI scan of lower back which he then diagnosed as Spinal Canal Stenosis and took the time to explain all the options open to me and their consequences and outcomes. I opted for the Decompression Surgery, I had a consent review with Mr Popa who carefully explained the percentage of problems that could occur during surgery which seemed minimal compared with the pain being suffered. Surgery took place on 10th October and was a complete success, I am now at last free from that sciatic pain is totally unbelievable and it has given me a new lease of life and am at last looking forward to the future, walks, holidays and just being able to get out and about. I would highly recommend Mr Popa and his surgical team and all the nursing staff at the Spire Hospital in Liverppol.

Mr Popa immediately understood me with his calm measured approach, He was extremely reassuring with the range of procedures that were discussed. His willingness to listen to me as a patient showed his empathy. When discussing the results of scans he asked questions so he knew I understood complicated medical issues. I am a walking example of his work having given me a quality of life that I didn't realise was there for me. I highly recommend Mr Popa.

First class service was provided from the initial consultation, through the testing phase and all the way through to the microdiscectomy. From the moment I woke up from the operation I was no longer in pain. I was very well looked after in the Spire Murrayfield Hospital for the 24 hours I was there. The recovery at home was brilliant. No real need for painkillers. Absolutely no problems with my back since and, more importantly, no more sciatic pain in my leg. Couldn't recommend Mr Popa, or the procedure, any more highly
