I am so glad to have made the decision to see this highly informative and professional Consultant. Immediately, I felt at ease and able to discuss the problems affecting my very active lifestyle. To be listened to carefully and provided with so much advice plus explanation , the quality of my life has changed exponentially leaving me feeling very grateful and ' in control' of symptoms. Following the changes in daily routine and taking on board all other advice given has been well worthwhile. A very kind and considerate Consultant.

Mr Chitsabesan was very helpful in providing additional information to my occupational doctor immediately after the consultation to ensure I was able to continue working until the operation.

I had an emergency procedure late last year, and Mr Chitsabesan was my Consultant, he was very informative of what I had gone through, and supported me on my road to recovery, and how I had to change my lifestyle to drink more clear fluids and take high fibre food to avoid re occurring Diverticulitis. He has been very thorough on following up all outpatient appointments and telephone calls. I would recommend Mr Chitsabesan to others who maybe going through any issues regarding bowel diseases/issues. I found Mr Chitsabesan easy to talk to and he made me feel at ease, under all the pressure my mind and body was going through. I would also like to say Mr Chitsabesan’s secretary Kim has been extremely helpful during my illness, following up any issues that I raised. Also the following consultants were very helpful and informative, Mr Giles and Rachel, sorry I don’t know Rachel surname. Assisted me through a very stressful few weeks. I feel that when sensitive information is given to patients could have been carried out better. This has no regards to Mr Chitsabesan. L Unwin

My experience of the care provided by Mr Chitsabesan has been excellent in all regards. He is very personable and quickly established a great rapport with both my wife (who accompanied me to his clinic) and to me. He was able to help us to understand what had been noticed on my CT scan and the planned course of action. We left the clinic feeling well informed and very confident about being under his care. His conversation with me at the start of the day on which the surgery took place felt informative, relaxed and friendly. I felt that he listened to me and answered all my questions. Although I am sure that he was under time pressure this did not come across and he only left when he had checked that I was happy. I have come across quite a few consultants over the years and most of them are excellent clinically but the psychological side of the care is as important as the clinical side. When this is done well, which it most certainly has been by Mr Chitsbesan, it dramatically reduces the levels of anxiety. In turn, I feel sure this results in improved outcomes.

Very approachable and easy to talk to. Very helpful with advice both before and after surgery. Quite a complicated surgery was very successful. I have only good things to say about Mr. Chitsabesan and his team.
