Six years ago I was operated on by this wonderful surgeon. I had a large ovarian cyst and looked 5 months pregnant. I was very scared and prayed for God to help me get through the operation. I was drinking a cappuccino in Lytham one morning worrying about it all. God gave me peace and said don't worry about it I've got the man for the job. Mr Pierre Martin-Hirsch was that man. He took great care of me and I have been fully fit ever since. If you are fortunate enough to have him as your surgeon you will be well cared for.

My name is Amanda, I was 34 years old when diagnosed with cervical cancer and sent over to royal Preston for radical hysterectomy. I had 3 young children and had recently split from my husband and everything was so scary. I met Mr Hirsch and he had such a calming approach I immediately felt safe in his hands. He did the op and along with specialist nurse Sandras help I made a full recovery. I am now 48 years old and find myself still thinking of the fantastic team who looked after me, saved my life and allowed me to continue to watch my children grow into wonderful adults and become a loving nana. From diagnosis to treatment to aftercare thank goodness for the NHS and it’s dedicated workers, thankyou in particular to mr Hirsch, your ability to communicate, your compassion and obvious skills is the reason I’m able to write this today. Many thanks.

My name is Linda 3 years ago exactly I was in the most frightening place in my life.. I was 70 yrs young .. I had a small postmenopausal bleed .. no big deal I thought.. but my hubby had different ideas ..he thought it was indeed a big deal and needed looking at ..so to cut a long story short after being pushed into getting “ looked at” I had womb cancer ..so it began . terrified . I went through the motion . in a blur I was wonderfully helped and supported ( could never thank them enough ) by Sandra Murray my lovely Macmillan nurse .. I digress ... so here I am sat in my hospital bed being brave waiting ..I didn’t know what to expect .. but in came this very unassuming man ..he had a look at me tapped my hand had a word or two and left .. perfect ..my kind of guy .. no fuss and with that it said to me no fear .. perfect .. I couldn’t have known at that point how much this fleeting visit would impact on my life my future .. I can’t go into medical stuff because I’m a typical head in the sand kinda girl .. but I can tell you this my family’s growing ..I’ve just got a new beautiful great grandson .. .. I’m grateful every single day that I’m here to see these new little ones ..there are no words ..absolutely no words to express my gratitude to this man and his team ..a million thank you’s for my life my future .. ...thank you ... Linda
