I've never been particularly happy with my breasts. As I think is quite common, as I put on a little weight in my 40s they got disproportionately bigger and even when I lost weight they didn't get any smaller. 5' 3" and approx 36E/F. Nipples have always been more downward facing than I would have liked and one breast slightly bigger than the other. Running very uncomfortable and they just got in the way all the time, not to mention not being able to get tops and dresses that fitted. At the ripe old age of 54 I had a bit of a revalation - I was in the fortunate position to be able to afford surgery and after doing a bit of research online I decided I was going to take the plunge. More research and I concluded that Mr Turton was a clear choice given that breast surgery is his specialty and he has bags of experience. His website has pretty much all the information you need, and also lots of before and after pictures to give an idea of what can be achieved. I made my first appointment and had the opportunity to discuss in detail what the procedure entailed, and ask any questions. I didn't have a specific size in mind - just smaller and more in proportion with my height and frame and a better nipple position. My op was held up a bit due to the COVID pandemic but had my surgery in November 2020 and here I am just over 3 months later. All of the staff at the Nuffield were great and my stay there was very comfortable. It was the first time I'd had a general anasthetic so I was a little nervous about that, but it all went very smoothly and wasn't long before I woke up in recovery. The first night was a little uncomfortable with the drains in place but these were taken out the next morning and I was able to go home. I was, and stll am, amazed with the results. Some swelling at first, and everything felt tight, but all the stitching was so neat and hardly any bruising. I had retained full nipple sensation and healed so quickly with no complications, minimal painkillers and just a week off work. I know I was lucky from that perspective, but that was my experience. After a month or so, the swelling had pretty much gone and my breasts were starting to soften and get a more natural shape. 12 weeks post surgery everything has healed beautifully (although the internal stitches will still be dissolving) and the scars are gradually fading. I can sleep on my side and front and go without a bra without any discomfort. I now love my breasts rather than hating them, can fit into clothes without them being too tight and can exercise comfortably - they are completely soft and have a lovely natural shape. Wish I'd had the surgery years ago, but so happy I did it and if anyone has any hesitations, Mr Turton and Nurse Gerry will put you at ease, answer all of your questions and deliver the very best results - I could not recommend more highly.
