I first met Mr Rosell in November 2014 due to falling off of my horse and fracturing my humerus. Mr Rosell was extremely knowledgable and professional and he took the time to fully explain his recommendation for open reduction internal fixation surgery. I immediately felt reassured and confident in his care as he was very honest and direct, which is an approach that I favour. Following my initial surgery I remained under Mr Rosell’s care for ongoing management. In July 2015 Mr Rosell completed further surgery on my arm to remove the fixation due to irritation and sensitivity. Once again I found him to be extremely informative, patient centred and caring. He was exceptionally patient with me, taking the time to answer my numerous questions. After both of my surgeries I made a good recovery and I regained the full use and range of movement in my arm with no complications. In September 2017 I dislocated and fractured my radius falling off of my bike whilst I was on holiday in Italy. This was repaired surgically by open reduction internal fixation. Upon my return to the UK I immediately contacted Mr Rosell who gratefully agreed to manage my ongoing care and recovery. Due to the extensive damage that I sustained from the injury, I had delayed bone growth and partial union of my radius. Therefore Mr Rosell has recently carried out further surgery (bone grafting from my iliac crest into my radius), which I am currently recovering from. I have found Mr Rosell to be an excellent consultant. He is clearly an expert in his field but it has been his honest, empathetic and warm approach that has reassured and impressed me the most. Given that I appear to be extremely accident prone, I would not hesitate to use him again in the future!

It seems that whenever I manage to pick up an injury, it always seems to be one of my shoulders!! I first consulted Philip in 2012/13 where he did a first class job on repairing my right shoulder. So good in fact, I had no hesitation in consulting Philip again when I damaged my left shoulder! Although the damage to my shoulder is a little more complicated, that has so far required 3 procedures with another one planned shortly Philip's care has been exemplary. As far as I'm concerned he tick's all the right boxes and I'd have no hesitation in recommending Philip to family or friends who needed care in Philip's area of expertise. In fact I believe you would need to go a long way to find another consultant that could match Philip's level of expertise!! ......and that makes him ok in my book!!

The day I saw dr. Rosell, that day changed my whole life. He helped me with more than I initially came for. I’m now a much happier person with no pain.He is such a lovely person and he helped me a lot and he helped me with more issues that I didn’t know I had by referring me to see other dr. I’m so glad I had him as my elbow specialist if I have any problems again in the future he will be the one I will go to again and again. Thank you so much dr Rosell and thank you so much Tracey, I cannot forget you, always so kind and helpful on the phone.

I have had the pleasure :-) of having Philip Rosell look after both my shoulder operations in the last 4 years. When I first met Mr Rosell it was comforting to hear the simple explanation as to my problems and how he was going to support my treatment. We discuss various options, and explored what would work well. Careful diagnosis was important before finally deciding on surgery as the best route. This led to me having my right shoulder surgery in 2014, and the recovery went well and Mr Rosell was always available for advice and guidance when needed. When my left shoulder then started giving me similar problems there was no hesitation in going straight to Mr Rosell for guidance and eventually surgery in 2016. I am pleased to say that both my shoulders are pain free and I am living an active lifestyle. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mr Rosell to anyone.

I had the delight of meeting Mr Rosell in 2013/14. He is a character that I likened to immediately. He explained in basic terms what was wrong, how it could be repaired and how long it would take to heal. You cannot expect more from someone who knows their trade. Mr Rosell operated on my right shoulder for a full width tear to my rotator cuff. He did say it may not be a full width tear and that he will deal with it when he gets in there, so to speak. My operation date came, he saw me as soon as he arrived, asked if I had any questions and said he would see me in theatre. Indeed he did, he operated and the aftercare and success of his work really does show. Within a few weeks I was back to work and now, some eight months later it is fantastic. So much so I asked him to do the same procedure on my left shoulder. This he did four weeks ago and it is healing as expected, very well indeed. In my honest opinion, I meet a lot of different characters in my chosen profession and if they were all as honest and competent as Mr Rosell, my life would be so much easier. Honesty and punctuality to go with actual ability is hard to find. In this surgeon, I found it all. I am extremely grateful to the NHS in bringing me to this man.
