In 2014 I developed pain and discomfort in my left testicle and was referred for an ultrasound. At the ultrasound they said my left testicle was fine but the right one had a suspicious mass. I was then referred to Mr Tsafrakidis who told me it was likely cancer and needs removing. I explained that my pain was in my left testicle and that I was previously told I had scar tissue in my right one which could be mistaken for cancer and he ignored me and told me the radiologist who has looked at my scans has 40 years experience and has never made a mistake like this before. I asked for a second opinion but he talked me out of it. I was told before my surgery if I had any concerns I would be able to speak to Mr Tsafrakidis and Mr Garaffa but neither of them even came over to me. I had a big list of questions which my girlfriend helped me put together and was still unsure I even needed this operation. Instead a doctor who could barely speak English came over ( Mr Gianjiacamo Ollandini) and drew an arrow on my right hand so they knew which side to operate on. Then I was straight into theatre. No discussions about my worries or concerns, not even a hello. After I had my testicle removed I was sent home but the pain continued in my left testicle. I went back and they told me it was referred pain from the orchidectomy. Two weeks later I was called in to meet the lead urologist Mr Garaffa (who I had never even met before) and was told there was no cancer to begin with. I asked about my pain in my left testicle and was told it would clear up on its own. Well 7 years later I am still suffering with pain in my left testicle which I have been told could’ve easily been sorted if they gave me antibiotics at the time. Instead they ignored me and it slowly became chronic epididymitis. I now have low testosterone, PTSD and have been offered no support from anyone. He has since moved to Scotland and I was sneakily discharged from Broomfield Hospital without them even informing me. I put my trust in this man and his colleagues, now my life is destroyed.

Appointment was on time, friendly but not time wasting. Next step agreed.

Mr Tsafrakibis was very good at explaining how my treatment would go and helped with other suggestions to control my symptoms.
