Mr Statham treated my hydrocephalus in 2020 with a lumboperitoneal shunt. The treatment has been a brilliant success, and I could not have been in more skilled surgical hands. PFX's choice of an LP shunt with a fixed valve was exactly in line with my preferences, and I am grateful beyond words for his skill and experience.

From diagnosis December 2019 to removal of brain tumour February 2020 I cannot fault Mr Stratham or his team. The moment I met him he put myself and my husband at ease with his immense knowledge and a little much needed humour.

I was diagnosed with craniopharyngioma in February 2017 and was operated via endoscopic transsphenoidal in April 2017. I was so scared during the whole diagnosis but however was immediately felt at ease when I first met Mr Statham. I’m so very grateful for his expertise and he’s aloud me to continue my life and bring up my first daughter. Knowing this man is my surgeon makes the fear of any more surgeries in the future that bit better as I know I’m in safe hands.

After months of tests and scans in 2017, I was diagnosed with an aggressive optic nerve meningeoma early 2018, which caused me to lose sight in my left eye. I was then put under Mr Statham, who would try to stop it spreading. I had heard from my local eye specialist that I was now in very good hands. From my first meeting with Mr Statham, I was honestly very impressed by his listening and excellent attitude, in the weeks leading up to my delicate operation in Dec-2018, I was very frightened of what could happen, but I knew I was under a very good surgeon. Following an 8 hour operation, and a few days later, Mr Statham explained everything that was carried out, although the tumor could not be fully removed, he was happy with the way the operation went. Now Dec-19,I can't thank Mr Statham enough for the superb attention he has gave me. Iam getting stronger as the months go by, in fact I have even competed in golf competitions this year, which I never thought would ever do again. My summary is a huge thank you to a very nice man and an excellent Nueroligist Surgeon, myself and my family will never forget what he carried out for me.

Mr Statham was my 1st neurosurgeon at WGH he had an LP shunt put in me. Which in hindsight should have been a VP shunt. Surgery was a success sor all of a few weeks, then I was re admitted as the port had flipped. Then a few weeks later as the shunt needed extending. One thing that runs in comman with neurosurgeons at WGH is once things go wrong they either disappear without a word (Mr Statham) and transfer to another colleague or go down the famous WGH route of ignoring you.
