I was referred to Mr Jethwa who diagnosed a hernia, Mr Jethwa arranged a date for the operation and performed keyhole surgery, it was done with minimal fuss, and I returned home the same day,the recovery was no problem at all, a bit sore for the first two days and then I was walking around quite happily, with just two tiny cuts in my stomach. Mr Jethwa was easy to contact, so I knew that if I had a problem he would be there to answer any query that I may have had, this point was important to me, well done and thank you very much Mr Jethwa

Mr Jethwa performed a bilateral (laparoscopic) inguinal hernia repair on me some 6 weeks ago. Despite a particularly uncomfortable few days following surgery - which was nothing short of expected - I am extremely happy with the outcome of this surgery. In addition, Mr Jethwa is an extremely personable man and I would not hesitate in recommending this surgeon.

In 2012, having been relatively fit I was suddenly struck down with horrendous pain in my shoulder blade area radiating to my chest. My GP suspected it was gall stones so referred me to Mr Paras Jethwa Consultant General Surgeon. I was a just a week away from going on a cruise so I was extremely anxious. From our first meeting Mr Jethwa put me at my ease, arranging my tests and getting the results back in record time. The results showed that I would have to have my gall bladder removed so the holiday was cancelled. Mr Jethwa answered all my questions, explaining the procedure in terms even I could understand, and allayed my fears. He has such a warm friendly approach such an important skill when suddenly faced with surgery. My operation went very smoothly and as he performs the most amazing keyhole surgery I was home in record time. He is everything you would want in a surgeon being very knowledgeable in his field of expertise but remaining an approachable person showing warmth and humour. The care he gives his patients is first class and I would highly recommend Mr Jethwa.

Although I needed only minor surgery this was my first operation, at the age of 53, so I was naturally a little apprehensive. When I left the consultation with Mr Jethwa, however, I was totally at ease and confident that the procedure would be carried out in a professional manner by a surgeon who knew exactly what was needed and was very knowledgeable about not only the treatment he had recommended to me but also the recovery time and after-effects. I felt this way because Mr Jethwa explained simply and clearly my condition, the available options and his preferred procedure, even showing me a video clip of a similar operation he had carried out previously (not obligatory, by the way). All my questions were answered and I was given all the information I needed to ultimately decide to follow Mr Jethwa's recommended treatment. The operation and recovery happened exactly as it had been described to me and, although I can think of better ways to spend a Thursday afternoon, I am still amazed six months on from the op how little impact it had on my life (I was back in the gym within three weeks). Mr Jethwa also replied promptly to a question I asked via email several weeks after the operation. It was reassuring to experience my first (and all being well only) surgery in such a professional yet caring manner and I have no hesitation in recommending Mr Jethwa. Should the need ever arise, he would certainly be the surgeon I would be asking for.

I was diagnosed with a gallstone a couple of weeks after giving birth to my second daughter. I had my ultrasound scan at Gatwick Spire Hospital. I had many sudden pain attacks and was in agony during these attacks. I was taken into A&E twice by the ambulance where I was told I would not be operated on unless the stone moved to another organ or if my life was at risk. I had a consultation appointment booked with Mr Jethwa on the Thursday after Easter but my husband decided to contact Mr Jethwa's secretary over the Easter weekend to speed things up. Mr Jewtha kindly contacted us on that very weekend to say he was going to fit me into his diary as soon as possible. In a day or two he phoned me back to ask if an operation on Saturday during the same week was ok with me. I was very greatful for this as by that time I hardly could eat anything and it was very difficult to look after two small children as the pain attack could come at any time. I saw Mr Jethwa on Thursday where we talked about the operation and the preparation for Saturday. I had the operation first thing on Saturday morning. Mr Jethwa saw me soon after the operation and let me know how things went. He also came in to see me on Sunday afternoon as I had some pain on the right side of my stomach. He organised extra examinations straight away to be sure that things were ok. On Monday I had further examinations and thankfully the results were good and the pain was easing by that time. I was discharged on Monday afternoon when I was pain free. Mr Jethwa called me at home that evening to see how I was. Overall I felt I was in a really good care during the entire period while I was being treated and Mr Jethwa was great at following up matters quickly. I am very thankful for his expertise and I would greatly recommend him at any time!
