I underwent Microvascular Decompression Surgery for a condition of hemifacial spasming. Dr Pathmanaban was excellent from the start and the procedure was life changing. Dr Pathmanaban was extremely professional, understanding, friendly and helpful, clearly explaining every step and scan needed, including all of the available options. Prior to the surgery I was experiencing headaches, droopage around the eye, problems with sleep because the spasming was so sever and problems with my hearing. It really affected my confidence, family life and my work. The surgery was a complete success and I have been able to fully return to life in all the ways I could before being diagnosed. I cannot thank Mr Pathmanaban and his team enough. Anyone struggling with similar issues should most definitely contact his team for help. I wish anyone reading this all the best for the future and hope that your life can be restarted the way mine was.

I met Mr Pathmanaban in November 2022,having pain in my neck and hands and having previously been told to have just physio. On having an MRI scan,a large tumour resting on my spinal cord was discovered.Mr Pathmanaban gave me reassurance and confidence to go through major surgery, despite the risks involved and the uncertainty of what he would find.If I left it ,the likelihood was paralysis. I had surgery in January 2023 and it turned out to be a shawarma tumour.I am slowly recovering I felt I was in secure hands and Mr Patmanaban excelled in both his expertise and most pleasant and calming manner.I would highly recommend him to anyone requiring neuro surgery.

Mr Pathmanaban performed my second craniotomy in 2017, he is such a down to earth and easy going but also professional neurosurgeon who automatically put me and my husband at ease from the start of our first consultation with him where he explained and made sure we understood all that my surgery entailed from start to finish. Myself, my husband and my family are eternally grateful for everything Mr Pathmanaban has done for us. Our experience of dealing with my tumour was not easier to accept but he gave us reassurance that everything would be ok which we all needed to get through it. If Mr Pathmanaban ever gets to read or hear about this review I would like to say thank you for everything and we will never forget you or your brilliance at being a neurosurgeon and a wonderful person.

Omar is my real life superhero, and I told him that! I was very unexpectedly diagnosed at age 36 with a clival chordoma by a different hospital who couldn't give me much information. But as soon as I was transferred to Salford Royal and met Omar, I knew I was in the best hands in the world. Literally! He was so calm, kind, understanding, knowledgeable and he and his brilliant team made me feel so safe. I never once thought I was facing the end because I had such faith in him and his team. They explained the whole process in so much detail & I really appreciated their honesty and candour. Omar has such a brilliant bedside manner and is very approachable. My family also appreciated the excellent quality of his communication and his supportive approach. I underwent 14 hours of endonasal surgery and it went brilliantly. I was told by my (equally brilliant) Oncologist that there are probably only 2 or 3 other people in the WORLD who can do what he does. My follow-up care, including regular scans and easy access to and support from his team, has also been exceptional. What can you say about the man who literally saved your life?! He's my hero and I will always be indebted to him.

Wow what can I say about mr pathmanaban he is the most amazing surgeon after I was told by another doctor that they couldn’t operate on me and then a few days later I met mr pathmanaban and he brought a lot of hope to not just me but to my family. Then he performed a 14 hour surgery and he took a lot of tumor away then I had another operation 4 months later and mr pathmanaban took every last bit of tumor away, me and my family are so grateful for mr pathmanaban and his team he is so good at what he does me and my family will never forget him for as long as we live.
