Mr Priest removed my esophegal cancer at the Royal Stoke Hospital in Oct 22 , this was a major operation and prior to surgery he fully explained the procedure with drawings and put me at ease when I became tense and upset , not only is he a great surgeon he is one great guy , he was amazing after the surgery with the recovery being at my pace with no rushing. He regularly called my family to update following surgery. I certainly wouldn’t be here without his care , skills and compassion , Thank you Mr priest and the amazing NHS staff at the Royal Stoke Hospital

I am in my 7th week following major surgery to remove a large sarcoma from my stomach plus complete stomach removal and the construction of a new stomach from my upper bowel. All this extensive surgery was expertly carried out by Oliver Priest and his team. I am 70 and obviously was concerned about such major surgery but Mr Priest with his dry humour, incredible knowledge, patience soon dispelled my fears. Oliver Priest removed a cancer from my oesophagus,he is not only a brilliant surgeon but also a very caring and compassionate human being always having time to listen and answer any worries that I might have. I would recommend Mr Priest to anyone who is looking for a surgeon in this field. I know he was trained at the Imperial College London by Professor George Hanna a legend in the field of upper G. I surgery. It is now two years since I was diagnosed with cancer of the oesophagus and 18 months since Mr Priest performed the Ivor Lewis oesphagectomy to save my life, a very complicated and difficult procedure to perform , I owe my life to him and will always be eternally grateful, a wonderful man.
