I am extremely pleased with the treatment provided by Mr Shah and his team.
Mr Shah has taken time to re assure and explain the process to me,. The operation itself and recovery went extremely smoothly and I had the opportunity to discuss the outcome with Mr Shah who explained how the joint was replaced and what activities I can now resume.
His app was very useful in setting targets for my recovery.
I would like to thank Mr Shah and his team for proceeding such excellent service throughout.

I was very worried and frightened before my hip replacement but if you are in the same situation please stop worrying everything is so well done for your safety. Mr Shah and his entire team are wonderful.

Could not fault the whole process from start to finish with Mr Shah. He listened, explained to both myself & my husband and we had full confidence in his abilities and he was able to stop the pain immediately & recovery was sure and swift.
I would completely recommend him and will certainly not hesitate to request him to perform his expertise again when required . Thank you for helping me.

I was kept completely informed on the run up to the operation. Mr Shah also came to see me the day after the operation and explained how everything had gone and answered all my questions. My aftercare was absolutely second to none and I couldn’t have asked for better care.

Mr Nirav Shah is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at the University Hospital Sussex NHS Foundation Trust.
He trained at some of the country’s leading teaching institutes in the South East of London before undertaking two fellowships for arthroplasty and revision surgery.
Since qualifying in 1993, Mr Shah has gained a wealth of experience in the field of orthopaedics, helping him to provide his patients with the highest levels of care and expertise.
In 20210, he completed an arthroplasty and revision fellowship organised by the Furlong Foundation, followed by a fellowship in complex trauma in Hannover, Germany.
Mr Shah specialises in conditions affecting the hip and knee. He has carried out more than 10,000 operations and is highly experienced in complex hip and knee replacement surgery, including hip and knee revisions. He has a particular interest in hip and knee arthroscopy for hip impingement and early arthritis.
Mr Shah has lectured nationally and internationally on orthopaedics and is actively involved in research within the field. He has authored numerous books and regularly has papers published in peer-review journals such as the prestigious Bone and Joint Journal (BJJ). He is also a reviewer for the BJJ.
Mr Shah has taught and examined at several prominent medical schools, including Guy’s King’s and St Thomas’ Medical School and Brighton and Sussex Medical School. He was also an honorary senior lecturer at the University College London (UCL).
Mr Shah is currently a faculty member at The Furlong Foundation and the Royal College of Surgeons of England and an examiner for the FRCS (Trauma and Orthopaedics) national and international examinations.
