I was delighted by the treatment I received from Dr. Pawa. He really took the time to discuss all treatment options with me and truly listened to my concerns incorporating them into my treatment options. Following the surgery Dr. Pawa diligently followed up with me to ensure my recovery was going well. Frankly, not a single thing I could have asked for Dr. Pawa to do differently truly 10/10.

I first met Mr. Nikhil Pawa when I was a patient in West Middlesex hosp in February , under another great surgeon who removed a tumor from my colon and needed a ileostomy . while I was in hospital Mr pawa always made time to talk to me and enquire how I was doing even though he wasn't my surgeon at that time. I came under Mr Pawa's team in July and had been seeing him in the clinic. After 8 months of living with a stoma which should have been reversed in June but was cancelled because of the covid virus I became very depressed as I had no idea when the operation would take place, myself and my wife decided to go private for the reversal . I told Mr Pawa my plans and within 2 weeks I was in Cheslea and Westminster having the operation done. Mr Pawa explained everything to me he was very clear and reassuring and kept me well informed. It was the best decision I made , the operation went well and I consider myself very fortunate to have come under Mr Pawa , I have every confidence in him and his surgical skills and can highly recommend him. top marks to a top surgeon. I can't thank you enough, many many thanks David and Joan

During the initial consultation, Mr Pawa really put me at ease. He listened, asked questions and took time. He explained and informed me of options and different investigative procedures that would be best appropriate for me, always putting my needs first. After the procedure Mr Pawa explained everything really clearly and was reassuring.

Being told I had colon cancer and needed urgent surgery some two years ago came as a huge shock to me. It turned my life upside down and was the start of a scary journey into the unknown, punctuated by seemingly endless consultations, blood tests, X-rays, scans, and ploughing through numerous information leaflets setting out possible scenarios and outcomes that sought to reassure but mostly had the opposite effect. I count it a great stroke of luck that I was assigned to Mr Nikhil Pawa and his team for my treatment. From our very first meeting I felt reassured and in good hands. He was always warm and courteous, clearly explaining my diagnosis and proposed treatment at every stage. He came to see me immediately I came round after the surgery to tell me exactly what he had done and reassure me that all was well, and followed up with regular visits throughout my stay in hospital. Unfortunately he had found it necessary to perform an ileostomy - a possibility which I had dreaded - and I had to learn to live with a stoma for a few months. Knowing I was upset about this Mr Pawa promised to reverse it as soon as possible. Eight months after the operation he kept that promise, scheduling me into his busy schedule to my great delight. This was obviously a long and difficult time for me, but it could have been so much worse with a less competent and empathetic consultant. I have total confidence in Mr Powa's surgical skills and judgment and no hesitation in following his advice. While hospitals are by no means my favourite place, I am always pleased to see him. Had I opted for private treatment I would doubtless have spent considerably less time in rather more comfortable waiting rooms but I am sure I couldn't have had any better treatment. He is a credit to the West Middlesex Hospital and the NHS.
