Having suspected a hernia, due to the discomfort I occasionally encountered in the groin area, I arranged for a consultation with Mr De'Liguori at The Highfield. He was able to confirm that I had a Bilateral Inguinal hernia, and would benefit from laparoscopic surgery to correct this. He clearly explained the procedure of the surgery and answered any questions I put forward. His relaxed manner and obvious dedication to his craft shone through, which gave me every confidence in him. The operation was a great success and the care and attention from both Mr De'Liguori and his team at The Alexandra Hospital were second to none. Three weeks later, at the follow up consultation, he again clearly and promptly explained any queries I had regarding the healing process. I would have no hesitation in chosing Mr De'Liguori again, should I ever need treatment of this nature in future. A BIG Thank You to Mr De'Liguori and all of his team!

After being diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer at 34 years old, that had metastasised to my liver I underwent chemotherapy with the hope of reducing the disease to make it operable. After the first oncology review post chemotherapy, I was told my bowel was operable, but my liver was not, and therefore the cancer was incurable leaving us with limited options and a bleak prognosis. At this point, I was referred to Mr De’Liguori through the NHS at Manchester Royal Infirmary for a second opinion on my liver. He listened to the story so far and gave us a very good explanation of what he thought was possible, a realistic estimation of how successful surgery could be and offered a proposal that involved multiple major surgeries in collaboration with a bowel surgeon. All of which needed to be successful at each step of journey in order to proceed to the next. Writing now, post surgery, and having no evidence of disease, and having a shot at resuming normal life - I can only praise and speak volumes for the care that Mr De'Liguori has offered us. He, and his team, have been nothing but professional, warm and caring in all of the interactions with us. Even regular checkins with himself post surgery whilst I was recovering. It felt like he went the extra mile at points to offer us support. Everything was explained clearly, with our expectations managed at every point and he may well have saved my life with his skillset. I highly recommend him both as a surgeon and a human being.

I consulted Mr De'Liguori about a suspected hernia after some painful episodes. At the first consultation he listened carefully and following an ultrasound scan he was able to confirm that I would benefit from a bilateral iguinal hernia repair. He explained the procedure carefully in detail and answered all my questions. His manner is very calm, reassuring and attentive. Following the procedure he spoke to both my husband and me to explain the procedure as undertaken and also made a personal follow-up call to me after my discharge. At the follow up consultation he also gave me detailed answers to the questions I had about the healing process and recovery. I felt completely confident with his care. The care at the Highfield was also very good. Throughout I felt listened to and reassured that I was in safe hands.

Discovering my bowel cancer had metastasised to the liver was dreadful news and a very poor prognosis. Following a period of chemotherapy the oncology team introduced me to Mr De’Liguori Carino who felt there was a window of opportunity to carry out surgery. He listened to me and gave me a balanced view of what could happen and his experience and knowledge gave me the confidence to proceed. I found Mr De Liguori Carino very approachable, caring and attentive right from the initial consultation and throughout he explained everything in a straight forward and very understandable way.

Dr Liguori has been absolutely amazing. Following a devastating diagnosis of cholangiocarcinoma, we went to Dr Liguori for a second opinion to explore the viability of liver surgery and, whilst we didn’t get the results we were hoping for, Dr Liguori was the first doctor (of the many that we have seen over recent months!) to take the time to sit down with us and explain the situation and the options available to us in detail. He is extremely compassionate and thorough in his approach - he went above and beyond to consult with a broader team of oncologists and pathologists and ensured we had a clear plan of action and follow-up procedures booked in without delay. We are hopeful that, after treatment, we will be able to explore liver surgery as a potential future option and will definitely return to Dr Liguori in this instance as we know we would be in safe hands. We are so grateful to Dr Liguori for everything that he has done for us and hope to see him again in the future.
