Having suffered a bad break of my left humerus near the elbow, I had an initial consultation with the orthopaedic surgeon Mr Nick Little at Epsom Hospital. I was impressed with Nick's professionalism, positivity and approachable demeanour which gave me full confidence that there would be an excellent outcome from the surgical procedure necessary to rectify the break. Nick operated on my arm on Boxing Day 2017 at St Helier Hospital, inserting a plate and screws the length of the bone to rectify the break and help restore it to its natural shape and strength. Thanks to Nick's incredible knowledge and skill, the operation was a complete success with no adverse effects from the surgery. I have been kept well informed of proceedings and timings both pre and post operatively. Subsequent x-rays and consultations showed good progress - everything was clearly explained and as there were no complications, I was able to quickly progress to physiotherapy. Seven weeks on from the operation I have virtually a full range of movement back in my arm, which is pretty amazing considering the severity of the break. I now just need to improve strength and keep to the exercise regime to restore full functionality. I would like to personally thank Nick and his team for the excellent treatment I have received throughout the entire process. You are a credit to the NHS.
