I had surgery [ robotic low anterior resection] on the 10th December 2025 performed by Nic Stylianides at the MRI Manchester. I am an NHS patient. The surgery consisted of removing a tumour in my lower bowel. Nic is compassionate, patient and listened to my fears and concerns. He is thorough in his explanations and makes sure you understand everything. I knew and was fully aware I may wake up from surgery with an ileostomy. Nic managed to join my colon to my rectum without the need of a stoma. I am so grateful to him. I knew he would do his best for me placing safety at the core of his decisions for the best outcome. Today, I had a follow up post surgery appointment with Nic and again he provided me a full explanation of what had taken place with a clear plan for my future care in this journey. I would strongly recommend Nic to anyone needing colorectal surgery!

Truly excellent care given by Mr Nicholas Stylianides, who came highly recommended to me by my GP. Mr Stylianides has an excellent manner with his patients, and he immediately put me at ease from day one. I felt I had every confidence in his knowledge and abilities both during consultations and throughout the procedure itself. During the follow-up consultation, Mr Stylianides provided a detailed summary of the investigations undertaken, the results obtained and actions to take going forward, all of which was clear and easy to understand. To quote my GP - "If I had a friend or family member who needed this procedure, Mr Stylianides would be the person I would want to do it".

I first saw Dr Stylianides as a private patient before being transferred to the NHS to proceed with my cancer treatment. Dr Stylianides performed a bowel resection, removing a malignant tumour of the colon. From the initial consultation, he had a professional but relaxed and caring manner. He was very informative, ensuring I fully understood the process. He took his time to explain and never made me feel rushed or confused, always leaving time and space for questions. I felt confident that I was in very good hands with Dr Stylianides, which helped to relieve some anxiety in the build up to surgery. After surgery, my care was just as good, with Dr Nick checking in with me throughout - even calling me a couple of days after discharge to ensure I was doing ok. The surgery went well with no complications. The incision scars are very neat and I have healed very well. I felt completely at ease in his care and knew what to expect every step of the way, which meant I did not have to worry about anything unnecessary and could focus on being as relaxed as possible.

Explained different treatment options; put me at ease by suggesting and undertaking an investigative procedure to understand what’s causing my symptoms; answered my questions about follow-up possibilities and recommended a course of action, explaining his reasons clearly.

I found mr Stylianides an extremely pleasant gentlemen who made me feel completely at ease. He explained everything that went on with my surgery and the problems that arose during the procedure. Everything went well with the surgery and the after care, plus a very quick follow up after my discharge. He was very knowledgable and positive. Surgery and recovery have gone amazingly well, very pleased, and I'm sure a lot of that is down to the surgical team and the quality of the surgery on the day. Surgery also happened earlier than expected, largely down to Dr Stylianides being proactive, which was great. The only issue with being proactive and bringing the surgery forwards was that all the pre-op consultations had been with a different surgeon, expecting different timelines, and there were aspects of preparing for the op I'd not been informed of (needing to stop a particular medication), although Dr Stylianides and the team were appropriately pragmatic on the day and everything still ran smoothly.

Mr Nicholas Stylianides has been a fantastic consultant, providing advice and recommendations and conducting complicated surgery. It has been a success and would not hesitate in recommending him for his advice, understanding and surgical skill.

I had a really positive experience with Mr Nicholas Stylianides. He was professional, approachable and had a calm, reassuring manner that helped put me at ease throughout the appointment and procedure. He explained everything clearly and took the time to answer my questions. I felt well supported and confident in the care I received.
