Mr.Roberts operated on me on the 6th December 2016. He was extremely approachable at all times nothing was too much trouble for him or his secretary. Another great comfort is the fact that he is contactable by e mail and his response is very swift. I felt confident that i was receiving the best of care at all times. I would recommend Mr.Roberts unreservedly. Linda Annetts.

Neil Roberts is without doubt the best medical practitioner I have ever met in my 73 years. He is friendly and accessible and genuinely concerned with the care of his patients. His explanation of the procedures, operation and recovery were extremely lucid and I faced the prospect of an aortal valve replacement and two coronary bypasses with complete confidence and minimal anxiety. It is largely due to his skill and care that I was out of hospital after six days and back to a normal and active life within six weeks.

From the first day we met Mr Roberts he put us at ease. He went through everything that needed doing and how he was going to do it. He is brilliant Dr and I hope he knows how great he is. If there was any criticism I would tell you but there wasn't he is a calm and brilliant Dr. I hope that if you are reading this because you need an operation you get to have Mr Roberts!!!!! I felt that the level of medical expertise offered by Mr Roberts was very high-- he knew what he was doing, was very experienced and I had no worries on that score. The result was a relatively small incision and a wound, two and a half weeks after the operation, that is healing well and has caused no problems. I only saw him once after the operation but his senior registrar and senior nurse practitioner kept in regular touch about developments after the operation. That was important since what was at times worrying for me - over levels of oxygen and then an irregular heart beat which was corrected- was routine for them. That aspect of communication could be strengthened since there is a gap between the consultants- and other doctors on their daily morning round- and the nursing staff ( mostly good, though not all) who were essentially obeying instructions. This can leave patients bewildered. The information provided on discharge is helpful but, given the inadequacies of GP/primary care, I wonder if post-discharge links between patients and hospital can be improved, to deal with inevitable uncertainties.
