I needed what I now realise was a relatively smaller procedure compared with some of the patients I read about on these reviews. Mr Jacobs treated me with just the same great care and attention. He ensured that I understood exactly what the operation entailed and was clear about my recovery process afterwards. My follow up consultation with him reviewed everything and again inspired great confidence. I am most grateful to him for treating a painful problem so carefully and successfully.

Mr Jacobs performed foot surgery on my right foot on the 27th Jan. 2023 at Salisbury hospital ,after an accident with a circular saw. The surgery repaired tendons , various muscles and arteries. I wasn’t able to thank Mr Jacobs personally as I didn’t see him after the surgery, but was told by another surgeon that I was very lucky to have it performed by him as he is one of the best. Mr Jacobs made a fantastic repair on my foot and I am now able to walk on it without a plastic boot after 9 weeks. The swelling is reducing and it has healed very well. I was very lucky that Mr Jacobs was working on that day and grateful to all the NHS staff at Salisbury hospital who assisted him before and after surgery. Thanks again for saving my foot and for giving me the chance to walk again- I will be very careful with power tools in the future and look forward to building more things in the near future. Neil listened during my initial diagnosis to what my challenges had been since the injury & we agreed a plan of surgical action that met my needs for what I wanted to get back to re activity & sport. After the operation he shared the imagery of what he had done which gave me confidence that I should be able to get back to my activities in a realistic timeframe. My physio has also been impressed by the approach he took for the ankle injury. I would be very confident to recommend Neil to other patients with a similar situation Regards Sean

I’d already seen a consultant regarding an ankle injury and after wanting a second opinion, was recommended Mr Jacobs by a few different people. I arranged an initial appointment with him and within around 8 weeks (I’d already had an MRI/x-ray), had surgery to treat my ankle injury and alleviate the pain. The consultation was really good and Neal was clear on what he could do and the expected outcome. The whole process was very professional (Yvette, his Secretary, was brilliant and always on hand and quick to deal with any queries) and my questions were answered clearly, with great feedback on timescales for recovery and progress (such as walking, driving, running etc). The day operation (at New Hall) went really well and the care throughout was superb. The follow up and physio (2 weeks post op now) gave confidence in how well the surgery went and Mr Jacobs showed me what he’d done, explaining exactly what he’d done and how the ankle joint looked post surgery. I’d have no hesitation in recommending Mr Jacobs for minor and major ankle surgery.

I found Mr Jacobs to be very caring in his approach, explaining everything thoroughly. I had 2 bunion operations carried out and was extremely pleased with the results and after care was also very good.
