Mr Rath has just performed a left side lumbar discectomy on me at The Walton Centre. It was done via keyhole and I only have a very small incision site! Mr Rath ensured at my first clinic appointment that I understood what my MRI scan showed and what my options for treatment were. He explained and showed me on the computer exactly what my scans showed, ensuring I understood what he was saying. On the day of surgery he ensured that I didn't have any questions about my surgery and that I felt as relaxed as I could feel. After surgery he checked on me in recovery and again when I was down on the ward - via phonecall to the nurses and in person. I ended up staying overnight due to low blood pressure, but had this not been the case I would have been able to have been discharged the same day. I received fantastic care from all the staff at The Walton Centre and wouldn't hesitate to recommend both the hospital and Mr Rath.
