I have been a patient of Dr Basu since being diagnosed with Breast Cancer a few months ago. Despite the curse of my diagnosis I couldn’t have asked for a better Dr and standard of care. He and his team are super-efficient, have gone out of their way to get fast effective treatment for me and he has super-human levels of patience. During every consultation he has been ever patient, carefully listened to all my questions and concerns then taken the time to explain everything to me and provided constant reassurance. He has been accessible at all times even over weekends and the support has been broad. He looks after you as if you are family and despite having a 90 minute journey to see him at times as we wanted the fastest appointment we couldn’t ask for anything more. Our family see him as an angel not just a doctor for what he has done for us and would recommend him in less than a blink of a eye.

I first met Mr Basu in January 2019 when I discovered a lump under my arm. I attended the Spire hospital at Little Aston and I was able to get an appointment within 5 days. Mr Basu performed a thorough check and the conclusion was there was nothing to be concerned about. In May 2019 I discovered a lump under one of my breasts. Once again I was able to get to see Mr Basu within days. This time Mr Basu suggested an Ultra Sound scan and a biopsy which were done that very same day. Mr Basu stayed in communication, reassuring me throughout, until the results which again proved to be of no concern. In July of 2019 I discovered a further lump under one of my breasts. Again I was able to get to see Mr Basu very quickly and once again he suggested another Ultra Sound scan and biopsy. Naturally the days after the appointment were particularly stressful whilst awaiting the results. Mr Basu stayed in communication again to reassure me. The results proved to be of no concern. I am now due to visit Mt Basu again in October for a routine check. I would not hesitate in recommending Dr Basu for many reasons; First and foremost his empathy is authentic. He genuinely cares which is apparent in the way he communicates offering reassurance when he knows the patient is under psychological stress awaiting results. At one appointment my eight year old daughter was present. Mr Basu could see my distress and opted to rearrange the appointment days later when I could be on my own. Dr Basu explains the medical jargon is layman's terms helping with my understanding. His reassurance, clarity and empathy make a stressful time that bit easier. Kind regards Natalie Parkes

I first met Naren Basu in 2016 at the Queen Elizabeth Women's Hospital. I had been diagnosed with breast cancer. He is an exceptionally skilled man at putting people at their ease and explaining everything with great patience and candour. He is a consummate professional and really knows his stuff, especially relating to breast cancer. He is very clever, witty, and a super surgeon. He carried out a reduction to both my breasts, removing the tumours at the same time. I was fortunate indeed to have my surgery via the NHS, it would have been very expensive as a private patient but worth every penny. I felt like a million dollars after my operation. I think he is a fabulous man and so skilled on so many levels and outstanding in human kindness.

I met Naren Basu in 2016 at the Queen Elizabeth Women's Hospital, following a diagnosis of breast cancer. He is very professional, very kind, a super surgeon, witty and extremely knowledgeable in all matters relating to the breast and breast cancer. He doesn't rush, he listens, he is genuine and I think he is rather fabulous. I was fortunate indeed to have my cancer removed via a breast reduction courtesy the NHS, it would have been an expensive operation privately but it would have been worth every penny, he is a fantastic man who is gifted in many ways but particularly in human kindness.

I contacted Dr Basu on behalf of my mother, who is receiving treatment for breast cancer. She was confused about reconstruction options, and wanted more information on using your own tissue, as this is not offered at the hospital at which she is being treated, and the pros and cons of immediate vs. delayed reconstruction. I sent Dr Basu a message via his website at 11 am on a Friday and he personally called me back two hours later and offered my mother an appointment the following Monday or Tuesday evening. I accompanied my mother to the appointment and we were both impressed at Dr Basu's caring manner and willingness to answer all our questions very clearly. The information that he gave us helped my mother to decide on the course of action most suited to her, and she is now feeling very positive about her upcoming surgery.
