I am so happy with the results from my surgery carried out by Mr Riaz. The care from both him, Sarah and the whole St Hugh’s team has just been amazing. I felt at ease during my consultation, follow up consultation, my surgery day and the whole aftercare, all the information was so thorough there was no questions unanswered. I am so grateful Mr Riaz was recommend to me, as soon as I had my first consultation I felt relieved and 100% knew I was in the best hands, he was always honest and professional and cared about what you wanted but also what was best for you. I am so much more confident in myself now following surgery and that is all thanks to Mr Riaz, his knowledge and care. I will always recommend him Sarah and as a whole, St Hugh’s, thank you!

After a few years of uncertainty, I recently underwent eyelid surgery on Dec 22, and I am delighted with the outcome. However, the confidence required for such an operation was down to the professionalism and calmness of both Dr Riaz and Sarah Grantham. There's no such thing as a stupid question, and they indeed went the extra mile to answer specific questions about you as an individual, the associated risks and the benefits. With everything in life, you cannot achieve anything without some associated risk (this goes with everything). Still, you need to understand the bigger picture, the facts, and documented historical evidence before putting yourself in any surgery when it's not life-threatening. I cannot thank Sarah and Dr Riaz enough, from the initial consultations to the aftercare, for being the complete package. I want to add that Dr Riaz is the most humbling and dedicated professional who cares about others and his unique craft. Thank you.....if you need clarification, these are the right people to speak with before making any decisions. When it's this serious, put yourself in good hands. Whilst in St Hughs hospital, the staff were also pleasant and always ready to lend a hand when called upon. A small but not insignificant pleasure was sampling the food. I certainly indulged in many of the options over the two days. Well done to St Hugh's Hospital for the complete package.

I have had two procedures done with Mr Riaz, he listened to what I wanted and discussed the results in depth with me. I felt listened to and supported. The care I received from Mr Riaz and Sarah and the whole team at St Hugh’s was excellent, I would not hesitate in recommending him as a surgeon to friends and family. I am very happy with the results of both my surgeries.

Mr Riaz is an excellent surgeon. This is the second procedure he has performed on me and on both occasions I have been extremely happy with the results. I would certainly recommend him.

Profile

I have worked as a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon since 1999 and currently work in the UK at The Department of Plastic Surgery, Castle Hill Hospital, Cottingham, in East Yorkshire. I received an honorary appointment to the Academic Staff of the Hull York Medical School (HYMS). My role is one of Senior Clinical Tutor and involves teaching, research and curriculum development.

I undertook my initial training in Multan, Pakistan before going on to embark on specialist plastic surgery training in a number of locations including the UK, Ireland and America. I held junior positions in plastic and reconstructive surgery in the West Midlands, Northern Ireland and Yorkshire. My senior plastic surgery training was undertaken in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Pakistan, the USA and the UK.

In 2000 I was privileged to take up the position of Honorary Assistant Professor in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Nishtar Hospital & Medical College in Multan, Pakistan where early in 1999 I had established the Plastic Surgery and Burns Unit before coming to the UK to work in the capacity of Consultant Plastic Surgeon. During my time at Nishtar Hospital, I worked exclusively on a voluntary basis for the entire tenure.

I was elected as a Council Member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgeons (BAAPS) in 2014. The purposes for which the Association was established are the advancement of education in, and the practice of, aesthetic plastic surgery for public benefit. I am passionate about standard-setting within the fields of plastic and cosmetic surgery. BAAPS plays a significant part in developing guidelines and advising the government in this.

I am registered with the General Medical Council. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, a member of the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS) the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS), the Pakistan Association of Plastic Surgeons and the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH).
