5th June 2019

I was unfortunate to be diagnosed with breast cancer, April 2019. My surgeon was Mr El Gammal at Medway Maritime Hospital. Finding out you have cancer is an extremely emotional and difficult time, Mr El Gammal made my cancer journey so much more bearable by his honesty, explaining every step of the treatment clearly and concisely and most importantly his unreserved caring attitude. Mr El Gammal makes time for you and absolutely nothing is rushed I feel he treats each of his patients as if they are the only one he is treating, he really does give you complete personal care. I had surgery 17th May 2019, a lumpectomy and lymph node removal, during surgery Mr El Gammal found two tumours, originally there was only one detected, just proving how thorough he is. My scars are very neat and the partial reconstruction on my breast is just awesome, he is a fantastic surgeon. On 4th June 2019 I was told that I was cancer free, leaving me totally elated. The whole process from diagnosis to being told I am now cancer free was dealt with completely efficiently, speedily and the best care ever. I do have ongoing treatment to endure which will be radiotherapy and hormone therapy. I would like to thank Mr El Gammal and his team for everythjng they have done for me, they have saved my life for which I will be eternally grateful.
