When I was originally referred to Mr Thomas to decide if my left kidney should be removed, I had not had any problems for the past 14 months so it was decided by all parties to leave well alone . Unfortunately a few weeks later the infection flared up again and I was admitted to hospital and following this, quickly referred back to Mr Thomas and it was decided that to prevent any further infection flare ups the best action would be to remove my left kidney. I was due to go abroad in the next few weeks following our meeting and Mr Thomas ensured that I had the required medication to enable me to do this.He told me when to expect my operation date and I had my operation when expected. I was very nervous and apprehensive but Mr Thomas put me at ease , he spoke to me and my wife taking his time ,setting out what was going to happen, how he expected the operation to go and what could make it more difficult but we felt that I was in safe hands. The operation was a great success, he kept my wife informed as promised and came to see me later that afternoon and went through what he had done and expressed how pleased he was with the outcome, at no time did either my wife or myself feel we were just another statistic, we felt that Mr Thomas really cared and was happy for me that my operation had gone so well. Mr Thomas visited me the next morning and advised me I would be able to go home as long as I met the required outputs ,again he did not rush off and I felt I was treated as an individual not a statistic. At the follow up appointment where I was discharged Mr Thomas answered all of our questions and was obviously very pleased with my recovery. I would recommend Mr Milan Thomas to anyone that needs any Urology operations, I felt comfortable , cared for and confident with the treatment received from him .

This doctor is awesome. He takes a holistic approach to you as a person, which is rare. I am medically complicated with hEDS, MCAS, PoTS, gastroparesis, and other bits and bobs, and was referred to him with a grumpy and painful bladder. My last urologist simply threw medicines at me, dilated me, and then never saw me again without ever explaining why he did it. However, this doctor is incredibly kind, funny, and reassuring; during cystoscopy, he made sure I was comfortable and relaxed (whereas previous experiences have left me feeling like a caged animal when undergoing tests!), explained his findings very well, put my mind at risk, took me off an unnecessary medication, changed the course of treatment, made sure I had a voice in my treatment, and explained how to look after my bladder to prevent further damage. Honestly, Mr Thomas is one of the best consultants I have seen. If your bladder feels grumpy, he's the doc to see!

Mr. Thomas is not only a great surgeon, he also shows such empathy towards his patients. He explained exactly what my operation would involve and the difficulties that could be encountered whilst removing my right kidney. Although 79, because of my diagnosis, I had no option but to undergo surgery. The operation took over 4 hours and was extremely difficult. However, thanks to Mr. Thomas and the Vascular team, it was very successful. I was so lucky to have been referred to such a brilliant surgeon and cannot thank him enough for what he did.
