I was referred to Mr Mokawem with unmanageable back pain after physiotherapy and chiropractic treatment failed to help. Mr Mokawem quickly identified, via MRI scans, that I was suffering with Osteoarthritis in 2 joints of the lower spine and recommended appropriate procedures which were likely to help. He explained my options in detail and patiently answered all my questions Since being treated by Mr Mokawem, I’m delighted to say that I’m pain free for the first time in almost 2 years, and with ongoing physio, hope this will continue for some years to come. Many thanks to Mr Mokawem and all his team.

I started seeing Mr Mokawem around January 2021 and I have now finished all the treatment I am ever going to need from him (hopefully). From the very first consultation I felt very comfortable in his presence, his knowledge and compassion were extraordinary. He genuinely cared and was available virtually on demand. If I had any concerns and/or questions (no matter how trivial - and I was a demanding patient), I got an (almost) instant response (even sometimes, late into the evening). All this attention and professionalism meant I was relaxed at all times under his care. He is the epitome of someone at the top of his game, both in medical terms and 'humanity' terms. As a fellow professional (not medicine), as a minimum, we always have to perform to the best of our abilities and act accordingly, 24/7/365. Mr Mokawem not only did that easily, he exceeded this substantially! A true gentleman, a family man and a marvellous medical practitioner. You will be in excellent (probably the best) hands with Mr Mokawem and his team - I promise.

My name is Jonathan, and have seen Mr M Mokawem in October 2021. In October 2021 I had spinal injections for a slipped disc, performed by Mr M Mokawem. Right from the very first consultant, I found Mr M Mokawem to be very helpful in explaining all the available options open to me, he explained every point very precisely and thoroughly, he took his time to make sure I understood each options. Through to the very first consultant to the procedure itself and follow up consultant Mr M Mokawem showed brilliant patient care, always making sure I fully understood what was going on, not rushing the patient and always listening to the patient. Taking all these factors into account, I would say Mr M Mokawem is the best surgeon I have ever seen and I would recommend anybody with a back issue to go and see Mr M Mokawem Also Mr Mr M Mokawem secretary, called Jeanette was brilliant as well, you always got through to Jeanette straight away and she always tried to help with any questions. Jeanette again had brilliant patient care, also being very efficient and professional. Thank you to both Jeanette and Mr M Mokawem

I was reccomended to Mr Mokawem by my spinal surgeon as he spotted that I had another spinal compression higher up in my neck which required someone who was very experienced in this particular area of the spine. I was extremely lucky to be able to get a consultation relatively quickly despite Covid and Christmas looming and even though I was feeling very scared at the thought of surgery and the potential risks, Mr Mokawem totally put me at ease and explained my options. It transpired that surgery to decompress my vertebrae was the best option for me and I decided to listen to my gut and put myself into Mr Mokawem’s hands, in every sense. I’m delighted to say that the operation went smoothly and now, 6 days later and it’s still early days I already have far more movement in my neck and the pain from before the operation has gone. The nursing care at Stanmore Orthopaedic was amazing, from my first night in the High Dependency Unit to the very comfortable private wing on the 4th floor. The food was also very good. I felt very lucky to have been looked after so well.
