Mr Michael Mokawem

The care my daughter received from Mr Mokawem was outstanding - from diagnosis of her severe scoliosis, through to the operation and 2 year follow up. We had complete trust in Mr Mokawem and he reassured us every step of the way. The operation went very well and my daughter’s recovery was remarkable due to the sound advice given by Mr Mokawem. His practice manager, Jeanette, was very helpful and accommodating. I would highly recommend.

As soon as I met with Mr M Mokawem he put me at ease. Like we had known each other for ages. He was 110% serious about his work but could also have a laugh and a joke. I had had three previous surgeries with a different surgeon/hospital which had failed when Mr Mokawem took me on as a new patient. He had gone through all my notes before I met with him and had a plan of action for correcting it on my first visit. I honestly thought there was nothing else that could be done and I was to be in pain for the rest of my life. The two stage surgery went well and I was back on my feet within three weeks. He is a fantastic practitioner. His surgical skills are second to none. ,His care , and attention to detail put me a ease straight away. His beside manner after surgery and follow up appointments were exceptional. After seeing other surgeons and three failed surgical interventions Mr Mokawem and his team took me apart and put me back together , my life has become 10 times better than it was. I have gone from, 90% of pain all day to 90% out of pain. . I would recommend Mr M Mokawem to anyone with serious spinal issues. I cannot thanks Mr Mokawem enough for what he has done for me and my family. His skill and attitude towards his patience are phenomenal . I say it again I cannot thank him enough thank You.

I have had issues with degenerative disc disease and stenosis for many years (30 years of painkillers and misery). Was referred to Mr Mokawem and in October 2024 underwent a 2 stage procedure and was in ROHS for 2 weeks. The care and understanding he showed (and his team) was not only reassuring, but genuinely caring. 4 months on, I am off all painkillers, and well on the road to recovery thanks to the most incredible man and his team, and I will never be able to convey my thanks properly, just to say he has changed my life, thank you. my back issues may return, and there is noone in the world I will go to other than Mr Mokawem, I trust him implicitly and also helps I like him a lot.

An amazing doctor, he listens to your needs. He wasn't my original doctor who was going to do my surgery but he jumped in to help me out as I had been backwards and forwards and the surgery kept getting cancelled. Has empathy towards his patients. He explained absolutely everything ensuring I knew every detail about the surgery and after care

He is an excellent doctor, explained everything about my husband back problems and was very sympathetic.

My treatment is ongoing and I feel that I am receiving the very best levels of professionalism and courtesy.

Mr Mokawem is obviously greatly experienced and has the determination to get to the bottom of a problem – especially in my case, where I did not get satisfactory results in private hospitals in the North of England.

Mr Mokawem is professional, and knowledgeable and has great skill in passing information to the patient resulting in total confidence. He is an excellent listener and has great empathy. He is VERY approachable meaning that there is no fear in talking to him about anything. EVERYONE rates him very highly. When communicating with other members of staff, without exception, they all ‘waxed lyrical’ about him, not only as an expert in his field, but also him as a person. I feel VERY fortunate to be under the care of Mr Mokawem.
