I was initially a private patient to Dr Mr Michael Kotrba when he treated my back. He came across as a very knowledgable person who knew his subject well. During my numerous appointments with him, I grew more assured with his advice and recommend treatment. My impression of Mr Kotrba grew more confident when I noticed he preferred to keep an operation as a last resort. He believed with the right type of physiotherapy and under his expert supervision most problems would and could be cured. Amongst other issues, I had a major problem with my left arm, I suddenly could not lift my hand above my head. He advised and gave me an injection to reduce the pain and prescribed a physiotherapist a week later. Thankfully I do not have that problem anymore. More recently I developed a terrible pain in my right leg, it felt like electric bolts were running down my leg. I did not have private medical care so went to A & E and was told to take paracetamol and that was the best they could do. I knew I had to meet Dr Mr Michael Kotrba, I was confident with his abilities he would do a lot better than paracetamol! It was a difficult process as getting an individual specialist on the NHS was almost impossible. I decided the direct approach and contacted Mr Kotrba’s secretary, who (I think after consulting Mr Kotrba) very kindly asked me to go through my GP. When I finally got an appointment, Mr Kotrba asked for an MRI of my back, then asked for another and it was the 2nd MRI that spotted a cyst growing in my vertebra. It’s now been about 3 years since Mr Kotrba successfully operated and removed the cyst. Thankfully that horrible pain down my leg has since disappeared. I will always be thankful and grateful to Mr Kotrba for treating me with the same dedication on the NHS.
