I had multiple hospitalisation's due to severe tonsillitis and was unable to get them removed on the NHS. I had heard of many bad experiences people had when receiving traditional tonsillectomy so I decided to do some research and discovered laser tonsillectomy performed by Dr. Dilkes. I was given both options (local/general anaesthetic removal), but opted for general which was quick and easy at Spire East Hospital. Dr. Dilkes was very polite and professional, setting my expectations for post operative recovery clearly. I was able to eat and drink as normal from the moment I woke up and only felt a bit of tenderness in my neck and throat for the first 6-7 days. I would highly recommend Dr. Dilkes and this method of tonsillectomy versus the traditional one offered on the NHS.
