Mr Trotter has a brilliant communication style with both child patient and parent. He speaks directly to the patient and puts the child at ease. He then explains in more detail to the parent. Examinations have been done with ease and my child was not distressed at all even when in an anxious situation. The care pre, during and post operation was outstanding. He answered all our questions and reassured availability for follow up should it be needed. We would highly recommend Mr Trotters as a clinician. My son said he is funny and optimistic and enjoyed going to see him.

Mr Trotter was amazing, I thought Spencer Harland was a one off but he is of the same school, Really makes the whole procedure easy and with a happy and comforting manner. I had a camera in both nostrils which I thought would feel like a Gopro but I hardly felt a thing! Post op everything was explained and went extremely well, delighted and breathing so much better now. Can't thank Mr Trotter enough, 100% reccommend.

We really enjoyed all of our interactions with Mr Trotter. He was knowledgable, warm and engaged. He talked us through the operation thoroughly and put us at ease. I can’t think of anything constructive to say - the level of care was superb and delivered in a caring and friendly manner.

Mr Matthew Trotter, My Husband has been a patient of Mr Trotter for the past 10 years plus after developing Bilateral Cholesteatoma's. We first saw Mr Trotter when he was a consultant at Heartlands Hospital and what a breath of fresh air he was to us. He greeted us with a benevolent smile, he was compassionate, considerate, cordial, warm, friendly and good hearted to my Husbands state at that time. Mr Trotter is a humanitarian, he was kind and caring as well as respectful and he showed sympathy and empathy at all times. He understands his patients and shares their experiences and emotions. He has a pragmatic approach, he does not decorate a situation, but gives an honest, realistic sensible outcome to any situation, there are no heirs and graces, just a down to earth, professional but honest opinion. Mr Trotter is on the ball and up to speed in his field of work, he shows professional dedication, he is well decorated with qualifications and has extensive training under his belt, he is adaptable, passionate, motivated and helpful, in return produces high quality results as we can verify. He is an excellent Surgeon and took extra care when performing bilateral Mastoidectomies on my Husband, preserving the facial nerves as well as successfully eradicating both cholesteatoma's. Just something a little funny that my Husband said to me after his first surgery with Mr Trotter was that this surgeon looks different in real life. I know he went to the Theatre but I didn't know Mr Trotter was making a west end production, it did make me laugh. University College Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire is lucky to have Mr Trotter as one of their consultants, we have followed him from Heartlands to Coventry as we do not trust anyone else to look after my Husband the way in which Mr Trotter has looked after him and we sincerely thank him from the heart. My Husbands hearing was diminishing fast and he was becoming more isolated by the day, his mood was dropping, his work was affected, he wouldn't go anywhere without me by his side to interpret for him or explain what was happening wherever we were, he could not hear the television, he could not join in conversations properly as he would hear and interpret what people were saying differently, he couldn't hear people coming up from behind him, his whole life was being affected and because his problem was invisible people could not understand him. This really was a problem until in the hands of Mr Trotter. He has restored a vast amount of hearing for him, now his confidence has grown again, his mood has lifted etc, it really has made a huge amount of difference to his life. Mr Trotter has been a huge part in our lives and if anyone needs an ENT Surgeon, this is your man. look after him UHC he is a valuable rare asset to your hospital.
