I met Matthew Potter in 2024 when I first enquired about abdominoplasty. I had the operation booked in for March 2025. I unfortunately became unwell the week of the operation but Mr Potter very kindly just rescheduled for the next available date without any fuss. He explained everything very clearly and I am four weeks into my recovery now and couldn’t be happier with the results. I had very little post op pain and the scar is neat and healing well. I had the operation at the Ridgeway hospital and cannot praise them highly enough. Mr Potter and all the staff at the hospital looked after me exceptionally well and it was a pleasure to stay there. The nurses are all kind and gentle and the food is amazing. I have no hesitation in recommending Mr Potter and the Ridgeway hospital, they were both fantastic.
Mr Potter is, of course, a highly skilled surgeon, but is also kind, patient and considerate. I am completely satisfied with the result of the bilateral upper blepharoplasty he performed for me. My eye muscles were getting very tired from holding up a lot of excess skin which was drooping down over the eyelids and pushing my eyelashes down; the surgery has resolved this and my eyes feel so much better. As a bonus, I am now able to wear mascara again - this had been impossible for several years prior to the surgery - and I look less tired. Six months on from the surgery, the scars are not visible. I would recommend Mr Potter, and the entire team who were involved in my care, to anyone considering upper blepharoplasty.
A few years ago, I was diagnosed with a basal cell carcinoma hidden beneath my hair. Unfortunately, it had gone undetected for some time and had grown significantly. As a 42-year-old woman, I found the proposed treatment options, none of which offered a particularly positive aesthetic outcome, difficult to come to terms with.
But fate had other plans. I ultimately chose MOHS surgery, and my surgeon, William, quickly arranged a meeting with Matt, who was already next door waiting to meet me. I had no idea I’d be facing such an intensive procedure, a scalp rotation accompanied by a full-thickness skin graft.
From the very beginning, Matt's calm presence and reassuring positivity made everything feel more manageable. He was there to take me straight to theatre after the MOHS surgery, and there again when I woke up. His consistent presence, even visiting first thing in the morning, made all the difference.
Just eight weeks later, I found myself climbing a mountain. Ten weeks after surgery, I was confidently delivering a talk in front of 200 colleagues. Since then, I’ve undergone five more procedures for graft removal under local anaesthetic, each one smooth and uneventful. My blood pressure doesn’t even flinch!
That resilience is thanks to Matt and his incredible team. Their calm, friendly, and confident approach made what seemed overwhelming feel entirely possible.
My operation was to reduce the substantial overhang of my upper eyelids at the sides of my eyes.
Pre operation Mr. Potter explained the procedure I requested in detail, showed me photographs of previous patients and clearly explained the operation itself, post operative care and the risks involved.
The only slight discomfort during the operation was the administration of local anaesthetic after which it was an almost pleasant experience.
I had no post-operative pain at all and the bruising started to clear after only a few days.
I had elected for the operation because my field of vision to both sides was restricted by the overhang of my upper eyelids. I now have a substantially improved field of vision and there is no obvious sign that I've had anything done.
Would highly recommend both Mr. Potter and the procedure to anyone with a similar problem.
I couldn’t be happier with the treatment I received from Matthew Potter and his great team. I had enough appointments before my surgery to discuss what was going to happen, what I could expect from my facelift surgery, and it gave me ample chance to ask all the questions and concerns I had, while getting across what I wanted to achieve.
When it came to the surgery day I couldn’t have felt more calm, from checking in, to how I was looked after from start to finish was faultless, my pain was manageable and I was so pleased with the results, it’s way better than I could ever have expected and I’m enjoying compliments from friends and family that have no idea I’ve had anything done, which for me is a sign of a job well done.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Matthew to anyone, he is so down to earth and meticulous in doing not only a fantastic job, but what I asked for, the best decision I’ve ever made. I’m now happy to be in photographs, something I’ve avoided my whole life due to my double chin, which turned into a turkey neck as I got older.
