Dr. Elliott and Dr. Muthialu changed our lives and the life of our +2 months old son. They did this in the utmost professional way. Nothing but words of praise and gratitude for what they (and the Great Ormond Team) did and the way they did it ! If there is one thing in which we see room for improvement then it is in the communication prior to admittance. It took some time before our son could be brought to GOSH from Belgium for surgery and communication between our hospital in Ghent and Great Ormond in that pre-admittance period was poor at times. But once we got the green light and our son was admitted, the care he recieved at GOSH was excellent ! Thank you, once again. We will never forget this !

Professor Elliot not only saved our daughters life, he also gave our family a new lease for life with the life changing surgery he performed. Unrestrained from politics and bureaucracy, Professor Elliot has a passion for his career that is evident in his experience and bed side manner. We are delighted to have had him perform our daughters surgery in such an outstanding establishment at Great Ormond Street Hospital. Our daughter has had a rather adventurous medical history and admission to numerous hospitals over the last 11 years. It has become increasingly evident that specialist hospitals are the way to ensure that the skill demonstrated by Professor Elliot is continued and passed on to fellow practitioners.

Professor Martin Elliot was excellent and we couldn't of asked for anything more. From our very first appointment to the day of our sons operation, he is such a nice man and he put us all at ease. The day of the operation was very stressful but he filled us with confidence and reassurance that every thing was going to be fine. One of the first things our son said when he woke up was that he wanted to see him so that he could thank him, and he was so pleased when he came to check on him. Nothing was to much trouble and he made time for us even when we bumped into him in the canteen he stopped to chat to us. I can't make any suggestions on how he could of given us any better care because he was brilliant. I would definitely recommend him you couldn't be in better hands

We first met Martin in April 2011 when our son was diagnosed with Long Segment Tracheal Stenosis at our local childrens hospital. There we were told there was only one man who could save our sons life and that was Professor Martin Elliott at GOSH. After spending a few months at our local hospital first to get our son a bit bigger and stronger we travelled down by air ambulance. Upon arrival we were greeted by the tracheal team. We met Martin who sat us down and explained the surgery in terminology that we understood. He explained the risks and benefits. He gave me a big cuddle and said he would look after our son like he was his own. He really seemed to care about us and our son. We trusted him completely. Our son had complications after surgery which meant we had a long stay at GOSH. We got to know the team very well and they became our "GOSH family". They gave us so much support and comfort, especially being so far away from home. We still travel over 400 miles to GOSH to get the expert care for all our sons follow up procedures. We would not trust him in anyone else's hands. There are no words that we can use to describe how thankful we are to Martin and the tracheal team, I don't think they will ever understand what they mean to us. Martin you really are our Hero.
