I have nothing but positive things to say about Mark. I had consultations with 2 different providers and opted to go with Mr Wevill as he was more informative of my different options as well as the risks involved for each. I appreciated having all my consultations and aftercare appointments with the surgeon (which is not the case with many other providers). He made me feel as comfortable as possible and I felt as though I could trust him which is really important when you’re making a potentially life-changing decision. My prescription was -2.75 and is now better than 20/20 (and has been since around 2 days after surgery). I’ve experienced no side affects or nasty surprises. It’s a life changing surgery and I would strongly recommend starting the process by booking a consultation with Mark - this will give you all the info you need to make your decision.

Mr Wevill was calm and approachable and personally rang after my surgery to check on my progress. My vision is now better than 20/20. I had pain for the first 4 hours which settled quite quickly. The Westbourne centre is clean and patient friendly- Parking was the only downside.

I had a cataract operation carried out by Mr Wevill in March 2023. The operation was painless and took about 15 minutes. Mr Wevill was reassuring throughout the procedure and I had absolute confidence. In a preop meeting Mr Wevill explained various options that were available. I felt I could make an informed decision about the type of lens that would best suit me. The recovery went well. My sight improved within a day or so and within a week it was excellent - significantly better than before the op. I am able to read again with glasses and my distance vision is back to where it was several years ago. I had a multifocal lens fitted which certainly suits my needs. I play tennis and I was worried that having a cataract operation would affect me adversely. I am pleased to say I'm still playing and my vision is fine.

Having worn glasses or contact lenses for almost three decades, my ICL eye surgery has been transformational. It has been almost three months since my surgery with Mr Wevill and I'm really delighted with the outcome, better than 20-20 vision. I can run and swim and do all the things I've longed to do without faffing around with contact lenses. I felt Mr Wevill listened and understood my needs well from the initial consultation, making clear the pros and risks of different options and not overpromising on the results. Due to my dry eyes, ICL was a more suitable option than laser and though pricier, had some other upsides too, around the nature of the actual procedure (less painful) and its recovery time (quicker). I deliberately didn't read much up on the surgery and it was all done in about 15 minutes per eye. It wasn't painful and the whole team gave superb care, before and afterwards. My first (weaker) eye took longer to recover than my second and Mr Wevill took the time before operating on my second eye to give me the reassurance I needed that the first eye had healed sufficiently to go ahead. The aftercare has been excellent and I would recommend Mr Wevill to anyone considering going ahead. It is a big, daunting decision but you will be (literally) in the best possible hands.

The entire process was fully explained to me, from the surgery options to implications, risks, and recovery times. The surgery itself was conducted in an outstanding and highly professional manner with Mark & his team working diligently to ensure best practice, best results and the best patient care possible I had some concerns relating to the physical nature of my job and hobbies going into the surgery. Mr Wevill took these on board, and not only got me back to doing what I love as efficiently as he could, but more importantly ensured I had healed and was entirely safe to do so above all else. I truly cannot say enough good things about my experience or Mark as a surgeon and medical professional.
