I first saw Mr Farndon in June 2018 regarding a long standing issue with my right knee and he listened to what my problem was. The initial consultation was first class. Mr Farndon quickly diagnosed the problem and suggested a course of action, explained to me the degenerative nature of the knee and advised on the operation procedures. On admission to the BMI Duchy on 17 October Mr Farndon and the team were waiting for me to review my case and to ensure I understood what was going to happen. All was explained concisely and clearly in a cool, calm manner. I was that calm, that I elected to not have any sedative during the opeartion though I did have a spinal block. It was great, as I felt part of the experience, rather than asleep and woken up post surgery. The following morning, Mr Farndon cane to see me, to see how I was progressing post operative surgery. He was caring and had a good bedside manner and was very reassuring that all had gone well. With the expertise of Mr Farndon and his team I have made a quick recovery from a partial knee replacement and would highly recommend both the BMI Duchy & Mr Farndon.

I have been under the care of Mr Farndon for my arthritic foot since November 2017. Having been told by two other Consultants that virtually there was nothing more to be done to cure or alleviate the pain except painkillers, I saw Mr Farndon with few expectations. He however personally gave me a cortisone injection, which unlike others I had had, was almost painless, and which has already lasted me pain free for nine months! He also told me that he could operate if necessaryand would ensure success! Today I saw him in relation to a possible Achilles' tendon injury. He told me I had torn muscles where they met the tendon, and that with care they would heal quite quickly. I have total confidence in his diagnosis and thank him for all his help! Mary Fawcus

Mark Farndon listened to all my points and comments , he was caring , understanding and gave good advice . The treatment I had during his care and whilst in hospital was first class . I cannot thank him enough for all he did and for the empathy he showed .

Mr farndon listened to me and made a swift correct diagnosis. He then followed up with tests and surgery - all of which happened within 5 weeks. All pain was gone after surgery and after three weeks I’m back to walking several miles every day. He was very professional but personable. I can’t thank him enough for getting my life back.

Mr Farndon and all of his team at The Duchy Hospital gave me excellent care and attention in every way when I had my recent partial knee replacement . Everything was explained clearly to me before the operation & I was shown the X-rays , exactly what was wrong with the knee & what my surgery would entail. The nursing staff, kitchen staff and Angela the physio also looked after me brilliantly, & the aftercare of physio for the six weeks following was excellent & everything was explained to me clearly.
