I had a knee replacement surgery but sadly the ligament was detached during the operation. I was in great pain for most of three months even with painkillers. I had to wear a braces for six weeks during the day and a further two weeks during the night. Then I had to practically learn to walk again. I was given exercises to do with lots of stretching and sadly I tore the muscle in the calf setting me back even further.

Response from Mr Marcus Cope

I am really sorry you have had complications following your surgery. Hopefully once your torn muscle heals you will get the outcome from the knee replacement you were looking for. Unfortunately every operation has risks attached to it and this does affect your outcome. This is why as surgeons we spend time going through them before we perform the surgery. All the best for a speedier recovery.

Mr Cope has been my surgeon for a hip replacement 5 years ago and more recently a total knee replacement from which I am continuing to recover Returning to him on a second occasion and for such major surgery speaks volumes for the confidence I have in his ability To present that trust has not been shaken Within 2 months I am well on the way to normal mobility He leads a team at Renacres which is equally impressive Reception, Radiology,Anaesthesia,Meals, Physio and Nursing were all carried out by people who cared and who understood and were sympathetic to my condition I unreservedly recommend Mr Cope, his team and Renacres

TOTAL KNEE REPLACEMENT I was in a great deal of pain, with restricted movement which reduced my ability to exercise. Now thanks to the surgery i received by Dr Marcus Cope and his team, I can now move without pain, have reintroduced exercise back into my daily routine. Mr Cope was very professional, compassionate, and caring, in his approach. Mr Cope and his team made me feel at ease, and relaxed prior to and after my knee surgery. The aftercare was second to none, i felt listened to by the whole team and extremely supported by the nursing staff and physiotherapist who encourage me with the exercises, and gave me the confidence to continue with the therapy even after discharge. Well done and keep going Maria Williams
